DevonIsAPlaceOnEarth
46% is clever in that it avoids any issues should we meet in European conpetitions. Excellent for us, and I imagine it gives Vitoria more access to cash than they’ve ever had before. Would not be surprised if this was the start of a flurry of these announcements, including the Las Vegas and Indian teams.

Main benefit will probably be somewhere to send our youngsters, but they aren't just going to accept any academy players, will have to be ones that are genuinely good enough, so probably talking ones that have at least shown they good for Championship level. Maybe they can benefit from some of our older players too, Traore would have probably been better off going there first half of the season rather than Turkey for example. Marcus Edwards was playing for them a year ago, he's certainly good enough for us so that would've been an easier deal than him now at Sporting clube who'll want three times as much for him. I was thinking aswell didn't we have some random link up with a danish club about twenty years ago? Might've been Odense.

Scouting reports would the first benefit at a guess There's a lot of good youngsters there and not necessarily at vitoria, maybe we improve their academy and try and recruit directly to them and cherry pick the best in 5 years time once all the infrastructure is in place But vitoria u16s vs Porto u16s might get fed back to Harrison and we're a step ahead

I want to support a football club, not a globally diversified sports corporation. Is a part of the purchase agreement that Aston Villa fans now have to support Victoria? Are City fans Girona fans? Are Leipzig fans Red Bull New York fans? Are they changing our name to Aston Vitoria SC? I think some of you are being needlessly dramatic. 7

He also went to a club Brighton dont own I was sure Brighton owned a club in Belgium so just assumed he went there. The principle basically was he wasn't quite ready for prem when they signed him so they loaned him to major european league to get him up to speed rather than just warming the bench in premier league. useless
When Xia owned us there was a story of us buying Danish club Lyngby BK and building them a new stadium, that never went ahead of course, but Wyness and Luke Organ I think it was were pictured in Denmark meeting with officials from Lyngby, so seems it was something they were genuinely discussing, although seems strange now knowing what we know happened later that year. Fortress the company Wes Edens founded and still works for has also been linked with buying FC Copenhagen.
Popular Post Indigo
Seems to have cost roughly the same amount as it took to sign Aaron Tshibola. Sounds like a bargain when you look at it that way. 3 1
HalfTimePost
There's not really a downside here. Either nothing changes, or if changes for the better. The deal was cheaper than Samatta, it's not like it's cost Villa investment that could otherwise have bought quality players. We get: - Better scouting of a division/country producing decent talent of late - Somewhere to send our best youth prospects on loan... That's actually better than Vitesse Arnhem - a Half-Way house for a massive uptick in South American talent that isn't ready straight for English football - A club we can use for FFP like Watford use Udinese, loan deals and sale prices at market beating prices. - A nice location for a yearly friendly Not much of a real downside here. In a sport that's already morally bankrupt, there's a lot of upside here for us and in all honesty if they've sold 46% of the club for £5.5m.... They must need the money and we likely help keep them in business long term
mikeyp102
I’m sure we were linked to these a few yrs back and it never went through. Around the time Suliman went there maybe? It seems like a promising move for us though
Beastmix
This will be a symbiotic relationship which will benefit both clubs. We can loan them promising players to gain experience (possibly even playing in European competition) and/or work permits, plus they'll be given transfer funds to bolster their options in the transfer windows. We can also pick off any promising players they bring through. Everybody wins here.
VillaParkAvenue
The price looks very low. When PSG bought a share in Braga recently that club was valued at 90m euro.

Not a bad place for a pre-season friendly either. Exactly it will help us sign players with potential work permit issues and somewhere different to send academy talent on loan

KMitch
The Portuguese League is the most profitable of all football leagues in the world: https://www.forbes.com/sites/steveprice/2021/09/01/how-portugals-primeira-liga-was-the-most-profitable-in-the-transfer-market-this-decade/?sh=275828806690 Porto, Benfica, & Sporting are in the the top 10 of all clubs in the world in terms of transfer fees received. Rules for work permit/registrations are much more lax in Portugal than the UK for young promising South American/Scandinavian players. All these "wonderkids" who aren't good enough yet for Premier League football or haven't played enough international games in order to qualify for a UK work permit are shoe-ins for the Portuguese league. From a purely selfish point of view, this is fantastic news for Villa. We won't see the benefits of this for another 3-5 seasons, TBH, but if Vitoria starts signing the same quality of young players as Porto, Benfica, and Sporting with NSWE's financial muscle, it will only be a matter of time before Villa gets them at a cut rate price. 1

It's **** disgusting that this is allowed though. Thoroughly agree with the overall point. FIFA were asleep while City began their takeover. Now they're that big, they can't be stopped. Break the rules? They'll take you to court and say the rules aren't fair. No way should any one group be allowed to own more than one club. Here we are though. If we want to compete, this is a good move. Would love to see us add Gent in as well.
