They’re plenty good enough to beat Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth if they are coached right. This is not a squad that will challenge the top six (the expectation in August) but it’s not a squad that should be in the bottom six. I’ve just been reading on this very thread how these ‘not good enough’ players outplayed Chelsea today People need to stop getting ahead of themselves. We didn't outplay Chelsea. We had a good 45min and after 90mins still lost a game that historically we do well in. The players are though far better than our league position but bullshit about us outplaying them is just that. Tom13
He has to go, but it's hard to put the blame on him for today. We played well, should have scored at least two first half, and the errors weren't just errors, they were atrocious. That said, an option such as Traore coming off the bench would have been ideal in that game, or even starting. But Gerrard inexplicably loaned him out.

No I don't think so, doesn't change my thoughts though. I don't like the bloke either but today was about mistakes. We were setup correctly in the first half, all accounts say we have Chelsea a really tough time but we gifted them a goal and didn't score, again.

Popular Post JAMAICAN-VILLAN
Truth is. If SG had credit in the bank, we never started so poor against lesser teams this season, and SG was a popular Manager, that result and performance vs that opposition in isolation is decent and easily gotten over. But unfortunately for him, that's not the case. Add the lack of proactivity and timely counter game management to that as well. Popular Post jackbauer24
Play random formations, with mixed personnel in a variety of positions. Throw your players under the bus at every opportunity but say you're protecting them. Mistreat a host of players in a multitude of ways and create issues that didn't need creating. Be snappy with the media and never take responsibility for anything. Focus tactics around big players having moments of individual magic rather than set up the team well. Don't play youth or improve a single player. Sell players that provide width and then decide that's your best option. Be happy to get a point against mediocre opposition. Fight valiantly against big teams and lose. Play poorly against middling teams and lose. Play poorly against weak teams and draw. Sneak a win once every 5 games or so based purely on the law of averages as the quality is in the squad. Do worse than the previous manager with far better resources. But we got a draw against City and played reasonably for about an hour today... actually, give him a five year contract. 3

Reivax_Villa
He won’t be sacked this week. A loss or draw to Fulham and then he is in serious problems. In recent memory I cannot remember the last time we have won at Craven Cottage. That is a bogey stadium for us..

At some point you have to be honest with yourself and pull the trigger. Purslow want shy of doing it to Deano, who absolutely had the credit in the bank you mentioned earlier.
