Part of me has a sickening feeling with regards to being as optimistic as I am, but the difference this time is we're buying actual quality instead of taking punts on promising players. Ings is supposed to be actual quality. Flopped so far. Successful signings is all about having a plan and understanding exactly how a player will fit into your team and system. Digne and Coutinho fit perfectly into Gerrard's system and supply exactly what the first team is currently lacking, this is what makes me confident of becoming a success at Villa. Ings and Bailey had no plan behind them, apart from 'our attack is shit now Jack has left, we need to improve our attacking players'. If Jack had stayed things would be different with Buendia. It would have been easier for him to fit in. 1

Jesus. If we actually made more than half a chance per match for the guy he'd be on double that at least and you'd be raving about the guy. We have been amongst the poorest chance creating teams in the league up to this point hence the Coutinho and Digne signings. Once he gets service he practically guarantees goals.

Jas10
I wonder if we’re shifting El Ghazi and Trez to free up funds for Bissouma? No details whether it’s a loan or outright sale for Anwar yet.

Jas10
Again, the off season/summer is the time to make major changes or even start a overhaul. Hause staying (for now) is a positive, we’re light in that area. I just don’t know what kind of CB we should be going for right now. Stick with Mings & Konsa and give them some protection from midfield. Maybe a loan deal would be best? For a RCB. DM is the major priority and where we are lacking the most.
