Just noticed this - in reality its a continuation of our ongoing relationship with Kaiyun/W88 and the other gambling companies associated through the TGP Europe Licence that are allegedly focused on the illegal Chinese gambling market and linked to organised crime.

Yay money!

Yeah, I believe these kind of deals with any kind betting comapnies, including Betano, will not be allowed soon, so we shouldn't be all that surprised we are making hay with it whilst we can.

Actually thinking about it, that change of rule, though it techinically harms everyone to some degree, will have less impact on the bigger clubs that rely less on betting sponsor income, so there's going to be a bit of an arms race for the chasing pack as to who can get the best alternative sponsorship deal to give themselves the edge. Over to you Mr Heck...

These just seem to be the existing packages that were already available for the whole season..a plug given the home CL games are now confirmed i guess? Couldn't see a specific package just for the CL games?

Yeah seeing that we don't know which matches are on which dates, this is just a generic advert to buy the season packages.

Seems like a lot of hospitality still to sell for the season.   I wonder if the season package is cheaper now that one premium match has already gone?

So far the price is the same as when I checked before the season. I imagine they'll offer half season or 10-game packages soon or similar.

Seeing as this is probably the last chance to plug them for full price before people start thinking too much about games missed I guess that's what they're doing. Its already very expensive, gets really really expensive if you missed 2 matches.

Will new sponsors wish to associate with us given some of the bad press?

Time will tell but if Mason Greenwood can continue a top flight footballing career then think we will get past this relatively quickly. Shows football doesn’t care and moves on … Plenty of other clubs have done similar or worse and are none the worse for it.

I have followed the club since 1993 and I found myself not giving a **** about them today when the stuff about disabled parking came out. I think it is very damaging

I think if I walked in to work tomorrow and shouted out bloody hell did you see that about villas disabled parking? No one would have a clue what I was on about

The mostly utd, Liverpool and arsenal fans I work with don't give 2 **** about us

I'm surprised it made central news

If you look at the questionable state of some "sponsors" nowadays then I can't imagine too much will change. Half of them at the top level are largely fictional gambling companies with links to organised crime, some of whom Villa have had no issues dealing with previously. The club isn't alone on this but has been involved in dodgy stuff for some time, they've just now gotten brazen enough in the past week especially to extend that to negatively effecting fans and are quite rightly being properly called out on it by most.

The commercialisation of the game has already happened buddy.

Commercialisation is one thing.

What this business (not club) is doing to its most loyal customers (not fans) is another thing entirely.

I.wonder what else they have planned to wring every last penny out of a crowd. Toilet turnstiles making you pay to pee? £1 in your chair to make it fold down?

Dynamic prices for tickets?

I’m not writing supply and demand off. Carryonvilla is

My entire point has been that the club are charging way more for disabled space because they can. The demand is there to raise the prices and so they have.

It’s an obvious example of when supply and demand shouldn’t apply. The club shouldn’t be raising prices just because they can

Maybe I’ve missed your point but you’re arguing there are exemptions to supply and demand right? And that ticket prices is one of them?

You’re arguing over semantics but I’ll bite.

Season ticket holders / football fans aren’t a protected group of people. I completely agree there’s a debate to be had over the merits of using supply and demand as justification for increasing ticket prices, but football fans aren’t exempt from it, disabled people absolutely should be. If they’d only increased ticket prices for women, or muslims, or over 60s then yeah we’d be comparing apples for apples. But that’s not what they’ve done.

The club is profiteering off people who may not have any other method of attending games and you’re using it as an opportunity to bolster your argument from another thread.

I’ve made my point a dozen times. You can read back if you like. I’m not going to bore everyone by repeating myself over and over. I’m done for now

Thanks for sharing.

I think I'm asking a different question to what the article is reporting, as I think these kind of things are very relative to all other prices.

Bringing this conversation here as it doesnt rwally belong in the Chris Heck thread...What do you mean? What question are you asking?

Arsenal ST holders don't pay anything extra for the Champions League (yes, the base price i'm sure will  be more, but the average wage on London is twice what it is in brum so probably about equivalent).

Man City and Liverpool season ticket holders pay significantly less than ours.

Outside of ST holders, only Arsenal charge a similar amount to us, and again I refer to the average salary of their match going fans.

We are extorting our fans on these ticket prices, and we're blaming PSR/SCR for it.

Given it is the difference between getting £10m from these games, instead of £14m, I'm not sure any fan would lament us losing a lowly rated u19 player for that amount instead of having their wallets bled dry. Its not good  and it's been reported in the national media accordingly. They're are better ways we can increase revenue that don't result in a fan protest at the next home game.
