Midlands Cup

Proposal:

An annual knockout "Midlands Cup" held concurrently with the regular season, featuring:

Aston Villa

Nottingham Forest

Wolves

Stoke City

West Brom

Derby County

Coventry City

Small Heath

Would be a fun way to raise the profile of Midlands football.

They still do. The Birmingham Senior cup has been going for nearly 150 years, I think it draws from the counties which make up the West Midlands (Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Staffordshire, Shropshire) and Villa play in it. Naturally it’s seen as a reserve/youth level competition by the bigger clubs.
