Personally i think we need at least 2 attacking players in the summer, be interesting what happens. Well lets hope we buy Goncalves and Williams then and they can both be on the bench t !!

It's a squad game now and different players/formations needed for different games. There are some strange ideas floating around in here that if a player is expensive and not among our 7-8 best, we should just get rid of them. The idea of building a squad with players that cost a lot in order to achieve a better position than we have had the last +10 years, is just crazy to those with these ideas. Delphinho123
As much as a I don’t rate him, he’s far better than Bailey. The most frustrating thing about Buendia, Bailey, Coutinho is that they almost always perform better from the bench. Still doesn’t start for me in our best XI. Ramsey and McGinn are better options in midfield and Coutinho is better as a forward option. Credit where it’s due though, good goal today. 1
Popular Post Jareth
Keep rewatching that goal, it's terrific, Grealish style feint but a powerful finish at the near post - would love it if he could do this regularly - perhaps he will given the opposition the next few games.

ozvillafan Posted February 25, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted February 25, 2023 Love him. Most of our good stuff goes through him. Perfect? Nope. Sometimes a little too hollywood in his passing and often out-muscled and goes to ground easy without drawing a foul. Still, good things seem to happen when he's on the pitch.
Popular Post useless
When people call our fans a pathetic bunch of stuck in nineties defeatist losers with little club syndrome mentality, or whatever they've been saying, they're talking about things like not accepting that if you want to be one of the better teams in the league you have to have a good squad and it's perfectly fine for a players not to be playing every week, if Buendia doesn't do well for a few games or if Emery thinks someone else would be better against certain oppostion, then so be it, same for Ramsey, he might get dropped or rested from time to time, but that's just the way it is, that in itself doesn't mean he or Buendia, or any one else in a similar situation are bad players.
Vive_La_Villa
Think he’s better when he comes off the bench personally. He did well today apart from the frustrating handballs. I like him as a sub. Edited February 25, 2023 by Vive_La_Villa

Yeah he's full of ideas, receives the ball well, buzzes around constantly, great defensively and in the air for his type of player. Main issue with him is too many passes that go astray because the other player hasn't done what he wanted them to do. I think when he first joined that seemed like something that would improve as teammates learnt to read him, but it happens too often still with lots of different teammates, and suggests it's a problem with him... but Emery is the man to fix that. I'd still have him as a starter most weeks.

Pretty sure when Norwich came up to PL he had the most big chances created that weren't converted by teammates

That was the funniest part for me that he was 5 yards away from him by the time buendia scored. How he ever made the England squad even as a cheerleader ahead of mings is beyond me.

Demitri_C
Why does buendia seem to play better as a sub? This is what frustrates me with him. Same with bailey We need players that can do it consistently not just as subs. Hopefully him being dropped is the rocket he needs to show consistency
