sidcow Posted June 5, 2021 VT Supporter Share Posted June 5, 2021 (edited) Just remembered reading that thread on Pinkun that they won the Championship title at Villa Park. That was hilarious though. They still had to actually play for it. We rested EVERYONE because we had the playoff finals. We absolutely battered them with our B team. One of the most one sided games all season, then they performed the most outrageous smash and grab to win it. My son missed it for some reason so I took my daughter who was 13 at the time and has zero interest in football. When I told her they were champions she said "how is that? we are loads better than them". This was our B team. sidcow Posted June 5, 2021 VT Supporter Share Posted June 5, 2021 (edited) Hahahahaha Someone on Pinkun has started a new thread and quoted my post from earlier about them finally understanding what we're about Also just realised that the guy who did this was Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man. He really is a hero! Edited June 6, 2021 by sidcow
Popular Post DaveAV1
A lot of our problems in the latter half of last season stemmed from is giving the ball away cheaply. This was exacerbated when Jack was injured. The problem was created by not having enough out ball options other than Ollie. When Jack was fit he made himself so available that masked over the problem. He occupied so many opposition players that other players could be brought into the game. With Jack gone, players like Traore and SJM gave away the ball at an alarming rate. Barkley either didn’t work hard enough to take up the right positions or gave away the ball cheaply for the same reason of lack of options. What Buendia will do is significantly increase our options when we are in possession. I think the opportunity to play with Jack was possibly a big factor in his decision to join us. Jack makes players around him look better, even good players. Adding more quality will of course benefit Jack too and was probably the type of reassurance he got when talking to Dean, Purslow, NSWE and signing his new contract last summer. To get such a quality signing in so early in the window will I believe be extremely useful to the recruitment process too, as it makes us an even more attractive proposition to potential recruits. Getting a big signing in early takes the pressure off and sets the tone for the rest of the window. Two years ago the window was a frantic rush to get a squad together just to have enough players to put a decent team out. Last season we’d only survived on the last day and so players probably took more convincing that we were a good prospect going forward. Whoever sold the project to Emi Martínez last year needs a medal, whoever let him leave Arsenal needs sacking! The fact we’ve now added another Emi is partly perhaps the knock on bonus of the first Emi arriving. Recruitment to take us to the next level is more of a challenge but we are doing it from a much stronger position than the last two seasons. Players will need less convincing that we’re a good prospect now. We’ve certainly made an excellent start. 14

maqroll
If Ollie stays healthy, I predict a 30 goal season with "Bueno" pinging passes into him.

maqroll
Look at that 1995 AST shirt on Yorke. Best shirt of the Premier League years, still.
rjw63
I hope we sign this guy so Arse an All can reflect on the karma of bending over and lubing up for small heath in 2011. Or was it 2001? I forget.

If you look at top 5 in PL it's as you'd expect DCMs or fullbacks. Ndidi Mitchell Allan Oriol Aurier. That Buendia is 6th in Championship with 2.4 per tackles game is nuts. Only Cash beats that for Villa players last season. Perhaps that considered he'll play in middle 3 of 433 with McGinn and Luiz behind Grealish Watkins Traore He’ll do exactly that but I think he’ll be the most forward of those three. Call it a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-5-1 I think that’s the starting line up. Of course we may not be done in the market yet!

I dont get the rivalry at all https://forum.pinkun.com/index.php?/topic/142554-the-i-hate-villa-thread/ The I hate Villa thread on their forum should be taken down, It encourages hate. I went to Uni in Norwich. They’re a very proud bunch and see themselves as this rising star, footballing and culturally. They probably feel quite cuckolded by having their best player nicked by what they perceive as mid table opponents.
Adam2003
I get it. From their perspective it’s kind of like if Wolves or Southampton had signed Grealish when we came up. We would have been livid. We are going places I think.
