Should have stood him up and waited to make the tackle at the right time. Or just continued to stand and if you eventually get beat then fine, but it would have made it a lot more difficult. But he made it so easy for him, not sure how you can't say that was a mistake.

Every one is dead jealous we have this talented young man. Edited September 2 by Marka Ragnos

I’m not talking about people saying he shouldn’t play for the club again. That’s obviously nonsense. Im talking about people denying it was a bad performance and suggesting Konsa wouldn’t be criticised if he put on the same performance. He would. It was a poor performance. You’re allowed to say it was a poor performance whilst acknowledging it’s his debut and he was probably nervous and still has a big future
CarryOnVilla
During the Gerrard era, people on here were rinsing Konsa hard for his poor performances. I probably was one of them. how time changes things

Unless we can send young players on loan to another Prem club or one of the top leagues in Europe, we have to blood some ourselves and get them experience, that comes with risk, we can't keep sending players on loan till they are 23, well apart from ones we just signed.
useless
I've watched the Leicester goal again, and not only was it not a mistake by Bogarde to try and make the tackle, he had no choice, Mavididi had already sent him the wrong way by feigning to cut inside, the only way Bogarde was going to stop him getting past him on the outside was by making the challenge that he did, if you look very closely it was impossible for Bogarde to stay on his feet and track Mavidid, his two option were to either make the tackle or just stand there, he was too off balance to do anything else, again it was good play from Mavididi and that won't be the first time you see him doing it to fullbacks this season As well as all that, there were others that could have done more, Barkley just stood there, when he saw Bogarde was beat, he should have been racing back to at least try and stop the cross, and then there was another passage of play after the cross had come in, regardless of whether Bogarde made a mistake or not, wasn't even as if that lead directly to the goal

osmark86
He had a pretty bad performance, but it's just one performance. You'd think we give players more than 90 minutes to show what they're worth. Not ready to put in my verdict yet and honestly don't think it's fair to do so.

Popular Post StewieGriffin
3 hours ago, vazquez said: True that, but it was nervy poor performance, lets not paint it otherwise. He's 20 years old. He's playing in front of the biggest crowd he'll have ever played in front of, away from home against a team that probably don't like Villa an awful lot. It's probably quite nerve-inducing. We've seen much more senior players freeze in games too - even last season as a recent example, the Legia atmosphere got to some of our players. Let's cut the kid some slack. Quote If it was Cash giving that performance he would have been crucified and abused. Absolutely he would, but that doesnt mean it's ok to hold a 20 year old, inexperienced, player to the same standard. The levels of expectation should be completely different for a seasoned professional and a raw kid making his way. Let's support Aston Villa and it's future, rather than just criticise prospects because they arent as good as senior players. It's common sense that they wont be, unless they happen to be a generational talent.

Clear to see why Unai wants to continue developing him. This is why he got the start. Everyone in a Unai squad has to be capable of progressing the ball. Kosta, while a better defender, hasn't really shown that part of his game. If Bogarde can cut out some of the give aways then I think we have a pretty good set up with Bogarde starting up the game and Kosta coming on with a lead and killing off the game. Don't really get the criticism of Barkley for the goal, he did his job and had no time to react once Bogarde got caught out. Bogarde will be the better for it and fortunately it didn't end up costing Villa in terms of getting 3 points either.

thunderball
It was his debut. Ive seen plenty of our senior players make similar level ‘errors’ and much worse, week in week out. I enjoyed his debut, thought he was OK. Good luck to him, and mainly for our sake.
