Not much left to sell now ? If you need Asbestos though, they got loads under the stands which is why they are shut. Also if the protests lead to the EFL investigating their ownership more closely I'm not sure if that will be a good thing for them either. I don't think asset stripping is the thing here, there's not very much left in terms of assets and they make a lot more money with the club as a financial instrument. The value for the owners is in being able to list the club on the HKSE and then to be able to use that listing as a way to leverage money out of the club as a corporate object on the HKSE, there's some very, very dubious accounting going on with the movement of money between a number of holding companies and the generation of money and debt through share issues and the peculiar valuation the club has on the HKSE. There was a point last year when Birmingham Sports Holdings was valued at more than £200m - that's a company centred around a business that's worth almost nothing and makes huge losses - it's become a financial instrument which uses football as cover for its existence. The owners of the club don't need it to win, or to succeed or to make money or to do anything other than just about exist, as long as it exists they'll be able to leverage debt from it, they'll be able to generate money from additional share issues, they'll be able to use the devices of the stock market to falsely inflate the value of the club, create value that isn't real then move that money out to other companies where it becomes real - compared to the value of the assets that the actual football club has, the money they can make doing that is enormous, many times the value of anything the actual club owns. Until the bubble bursts, or the HKSE delists the club, or someone finds something illegal in it - and at some point that'll happen - and when it does, I don't think the club will survive. Doubtless there will be some sort of phoenix club, but what I think we're looking at right now is a zombie being kept alive by a handful of shady characters who are becoming very rich off the back of it. 8

VillaChris
Is Deeney still giving it the big 'un as how they're destined for top 6? I note he wasn't involved last night so more interested in his media career now I suspect. They'll do their usual of scraping survival on last day. Wouldn't Reading and Derby be above them now if neither had received points deductions?

Even they can't fail to get less than 6 points at the very least from those games, surely ? Mate. Derby will beat them on present form. Not sure on Posh and Barnsley. Reading look the team in freefall currently in bottom area.

Anyone with an ounce of sense could have told them he would be 1) shit and 2) constantly injured. And he's probably their highest paid player. They are an insane club. Popular Post mjmooney Posted January 19, 2022 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted January 19, 2022 (edited) I just upset a few of them on the 'Old Pics of Brum' FB group. Somebody put up a picture of a load of the neanderthals going crazy at the sty (with comments like 'proper ground, proper fans', etc.) I added the comment: 'Must have been that time when they won the toss. El Zen
Not too many teams between them and the relegation zone now. They won’t go down, but without Derby’s points deduction they’d be in real danger.
Demitri_C
My hope is they keep bowyer as hw will start poorly next season then sack him within 5-10 costing them more money and then they are scrambling trying to find anyone witha low bidget to pay a manager and no koney for players. They have actually no high saleable assets that would make them money either. Deeney is injured by the way minimum 4 weeks. Who saw that coming?
