Tom13
That goal will comfortably be amongst my favourite Villa moments of all time. Hoping he adds a few more in the run-in.

His new haircut pales in comparison to those mighty locks. Agreed
ChesterDad
Let’s just be thankful that we have this mercurial magician back in the squad - for how long no one knows, so let’s just enjoy his sheer ridiculousness
Tom13
Was that his first goal in front of fans for us? I can't remember if/when there were fans at any point during 20/21?

He scored in the last game of the season at home to Chelsea, in front of 10k. His first for is in a full stadium though.

Bertie is less predictable in what he's going to do when he has the ball at his feet. Into opposition players and down blind alleys.
Tom13
If Bertie started every game, he would comfortably be our second top scorer IMO.

Very good tactic To be fair, it's a weird one, his all round play isn't actually so good, but it's the crucial moments of magic and clinicality he can provide which are of outstanding value. Ironic that Gerrard wanted players who could produce moments of magic and then sent this guy to Turkey.

bannedfromHandV
The man is an enigma, when it’s good it’s real good, when it’s bad………..but football is all about moments of quality and he just seems to come up trumps for us.
gwi1890
It’s just the opportunistic shock element of his goals that I love, just side foots everything first time at pace. Edited April 8, 2023 by gwi1890
brummybloke
Good lad. Fluffed his 1st half shot where I thought he was going to bring it down and roll it in by banging it on the volley way over. Chance in 2nd half beats his man dangerous flick in, comes back out and boom, that filthy left foot with crazy curl on it. Thought he could have been taken off with 10 to go for Duran to add more physical threat but he lasted till the end.
