mykeyb
I would understand it if we had just signed him this summer...... How many Arsenal or United player would have their previous clubs referenced if that article was about them, it's simple...none of them. If we had signed him from South America would they reference his former club?

"JACK Grealish was today spotted letting his hair down after he was dropped from the Euros - by donning a WIG on his luxury St Tropez getaway. The Man City ace appeared to mock his signature highlighted curtains by sporting shoulder-length blond locks. ... "It is his second trip abroad since the disappointment after the ex-Aston Villa captain was seen enjoying himself in Dubai." (Link: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/28844125/jack-grealish-hilarious-blonde-wig-after-england-exile/) "Jack Grealish is not at Euro 2024, with the England winger having a summer off instead. The Manchester City star failed to make it into Gareth Southgate's 26-man squad and isn't playing in Germany. The former Aston Villa playmaker was part of the initial 33-man squad ahead of the tournament in Germany." (Link: https://talksport.com/football/1914863/why-jack-grealish-not-playing-euro-2024-england-gareth-southgate/) "Jack Grealish is reportedly set to stay at Manchester City despite seeing his game time limited by Pep Guardiola in 2023/24. The Sky Blues may be powerless to prevent other important departures, however, as three long-serving players weigh up their futures. ... The former Aston Villa star was superb in 2022/23, when City completed an historic treble." (Link: https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1904795/jack-grealish-man-city-ederson-kevin-de-bruyne) They were the first three articles I came across, and all of them referenced his ex-Villa status. It happens all the time when talking about players. @Adam2003 gives a good explanation. 5

He's 4-0 with Argentina's main team. 1-0 with you guys. 1-1 with Arsenal. 0-1 with Argentina U-17 (but he stopped Coutinho's penalty with his foot, check it out): https://x.com/alejandrocsome/status/1603588879260401664?t=wBozYj2FLX-oRE4t4pD4fA&s=08 1

WallisFrizz
Article says his ‘representative’ talked to the media and said they don’t know if he will stay at Villa and are in talks because he is so important to our project. Im guessing he wants a pay rise.
Isa
I suppose the question is which of the elite clubs need a goalkeeper. City perhaps although Pep apparantly said something like Ortega will be the #1. Saudi Pro League could be a possibility given that Emi wouldn't have earned that much - relatively - throughout his career. Most likely scenario is he renews and becomes on par with the club's highest earners.

A new 4 year contract on big wages is long overdue. Make it happen Monchi.

Because he deserves it and his value to us is immeasurable. If he feels under valued he may look to leave or start to under perform. He’s earned anything that comes his way in my view.

I mentioned this previously as it was something I was told last year by someone whose daughter goes to school with Emi's son. Although, a few didn't seem to believe me when I posted that on this site.

You don’t know how much of a pay rise he had when he signed his new 5-year contract two years ago. He might already be one of our highest earners (after Digne of course).
