Emiliano Martínez

Not sure what our record transfer fee has to do with anything, Martinez is worth way more than that, just like Grealish was.

Spurs spending £50m on Richarlison is completley different to spending what it would take to buy Martinez, Spurs aren't the kind of club that have the luxury of being able to spend that big on a goalkeeper, only a few elite level clubs would be able to, and Chelsea but don't think they need a keeper.

Also him being worth way more than £50m is nothing to do with 'Villa goggles', he's widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and as such we can ask for a ridiculoulsy big fee for him, if clubs don't want to pay that then that's good for us because he's not for sale.

Spurs have signed 2 players this season plus Porro that are more than our record transfer

With Villa goggles off we would not get 50 million for Emi

Maybe we wouldn’t. But I don’t think we would sell him for less either unless we were able to buy a replacement like Simon for a similar price we sell Emi for:

He's a top keeper, £60 mill and Spurs getting 4th will do it - and they have more chance of that than us, this season and next season. Seriously do not want us to start next season with a new keeper, but we all recognise that to compete towards the top we have to trade wisely, we don't have the same income as clubs like Spurs, yet.

Spurs don't spend big money on players, they try and build value into every player they purchase, hes not going there, no way.....unless he has a sell clause for £30m

Spurs can be interested as much as they like but if they don't pay what we ask for they can politely f**k off.

im sure we would accept Onomah and a packet of crisps.

Spurs people online seem to think it’s a bad idea because Emi is too old …

I do get this argument from their perspective actually. Emi could play at the top level many more years BUT if we were signing ANYONE in their 30s (even a goalkeeper) for £50m or £75m or whatever, we’d have some concerns about the long-term value of the deal.

Not sure how many Emi has at the moment....

He now has 7 clean sheets this season, and 39 in total. 25 behind Bosnich.

Apparently premier league record for most clean sheets at 100 games

And people (including Villa fans) say he's overrated. Incredible keeper, we're so lucky to have him (and he us, but that's besides the point, he could easily play for almost any club in the world right now).

Can only hope he's as sentimental as he is driven and fond of shithousery! If he is, we've got a chance of holding on.

Great distributor from him. Really accelerating his progressions on when to ping it out wide to the fullbacks and when to go short. Haven’t seen a hospital ball to a CM in a while.

Unlessna Madrid or Barcelona come for him, I doubt it happens. Man won the biggest prize of most players career. If things go down the drain here, then of course he should go but otherwise why not set his sights on lifting a trophy at VP.

For Aston Villa. Not for the entire PL. Still a record to be proud of though..

Was gonna say, I'd be amazed if he's beating the likes of Cech under Mourinho.
