DeepDish Posted Sunday at 15:06 Share Posted Sunday at 15:06 His tactical ability seems totally off. How he did not get us a corner in the last minute, is just startling.
Rodders Posted Sunday at 15:06 Share Posted Sunday at 15:06 So far offers us nothing. Real shame was hoping to see him kick on coming back to us. Invisible and poor
nepal_villan Posted Sunday at 15:07 Share Posted Sunday at 15:07 Don't want to judge him prematurely, but so far he has really shown a lack of seriousness on the pitch. Very casual both offensively and defensively. Late on why did he not cross that ball in? At minimum we would have gotten a corner.
Tom13 Posted Sunday at 15:07 Share Posted Sunday at 15:07 He looks so one dimensional when trying to take a man on. He seems to put a shift in defensively so that's probably what Emery likes but we need more. Especially when Ramsey's also offering very little on the other flank. picicata Posted Sunday at 15:07 Share Posted Sunday at 15:07 Hmmm, I can see why we sold him
KAZZAM Posted Sunday at 15:08 Share Posted Sunday at 15:08 Some were absolutely gagging to rebuy JPB. It's shocking business. Illing jnr was sufficient back up for that wide position and we just wasted much needed budget on him.

We needed the homegrown quota for Europe plus with all the PSR shenanigans involved with the buyback I'm not sure how much more money we would have had to put towards Geertruida anyway. Should've got a defender on loan.
osmark86 Posted Sunday at 15:09 Share Posted Sunday at 15:09 Very poor start for us so far which is very disappointing. I hope he matures his game fast because right now he is not doing it for us.

PaulC Posted Sunday at 15:11 Share Posted Sunday at 15:11 He's not the replacement for Diaby people thought. Hope he improves.
VillaChris Posted Sunday at 15:11 Share Posted Sunday at 15:11 Way too lightweight for this level currently.

AndyClarke Posted Sunday at 15:12 Share Posted Sunday at 15:12 (edited) Needs to buck his ideas up, I did wonder why we bothered in the summer. Emery very keen though so hopefully he will come good, Unai knows better than I do. Edited Sunday at 15:12 by AndyClarke

It was nonsensical business. It's not just that, Emery seems to rate him and regret selling him, I've not seen a lot myself in him but he could prove worth it over time. I just don't see the point in writing him off just yet, I think he drew the foul that should've had them down to 10 men too.
Cizzler Posted Sunday at 15:19 Share Posted Sunday at 15:19 (edited) Not sure he kept the ball? Looked utterly rancid. Bad touches, gave the ball away, awful in the press, barely tracked his man. Honestly looked like he didn’t want to be there. Looking like an incredible waste of money. Edited Sunday at 15:19 by Cizzler
KentVillan Posted Sunday at 15:20 Share Posted Sunday at 15:20 He was amazing in the Championship last season. Think he’s just struggling to adapt to the pace and physicality. Wouldn’t write him off just yet - took Buendia a little while to find form at this level.
Brumstopdogs Posted Sunday at 15:26 Share Posted Sunday at 15:26 Really hasn't been given enough opportunity to fairly assess him although what he has done in the limited time he has been on has been generally poor IMO. Hopefully he'll prove a few doubters wrong...
markavfc40 Posted Sunday at 15:31 Share Posted Sunday at 15:31 He needs to grasp the limited opportunities he is being given. He had 20 mins against West Ham and 30 minutes today and I can't think of one positive contribution from him. Way too soon to write him of but the bottom line is that we are lacking wide players so we need him to make an impact and be a player we can call upon to make a positive contribution.
