Ollie Watkins

He's had a couple of below standard games, it doesn't mean anything, he had such games here and there last season, as do most players at every club. Last season he scored nineteen and assisted thirteen, that's phenomenal, doesn't get much more elite than that by current Premier League standards, and the main reason we had as good of a season as we had. of course he isn't going to be dropped, a waste of time to even entertain that idea, he's no more going to be dropped than Martinez, probably our best outfield player if you look past further than the last few games

Only way to get him match fit is to play him.

I'd have to say another 6 weeks until he's back on fire.

Then we are completely ****.

Can we say that we still love Ollie and just wish that he gets up to speed as quick as possible? It feels harsh to be laying into him.

Absolutely.

No we’re not, other players will chip in. We played the best defence in the league and created some brilliant chances, we will score goals.

No. We are. We'll be relegated by October.

There were many other players who played in the Euros, I wonder how come he is the one that has needed the longest time to get back into sharpness. England got to the final, but he didn't play so much so he is not the one I would have expected would need the most rest afterwards.

He has had some spells before where he has made this kind of misses, what's certain is that he will bounce back.

If our main striker isn't ready for six weeks, we're absolutely ****.

The miss in the second half wasn't even that bad tbh. Ball was bouncing upwards which meant he had to dive in head first (KW.gif) and I don't think he was expecting Raya to get up that quickly. It wasn't like a couple of seasons ago when McGinn was flying in with ridiculous diving headers for no reason

27 goals and 13 assists he got for us in all comps last season.

Man deserves some grace from us.

Absolutely, he’s earned our respect and patience.

Problem he has is the problem he always has. Any chance where he has any time to think he will fluff it. That’s what stops him from being an elite striker.
