And Calvert-Lewin looks to be the best player in the world right now
WooJung
Wow... Just wow... I'm impressed at how good he is as a target man as well
Farlz
Even if he doesn't score, his hold up play is so so good. He completely bullied Joe Gomez and Van Dijk tonight, just think about that. His hard work was rewarded tonight though, a perfect hattrick to start it all off. So pleased for the lad.
MikeMcKenna Posted October 4, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted October 4, 2020 Watkins was absolutely superb tonight. Hold up play, running, and three goals!

bobzy
We knew we were getting a player who gets into the right positions and finds space in and around the 6 yard box - and he did that well tonight, probably disappointed he didn't score more. His work off the ball, though? Phenomenal. His touch is good, he's strong, has a good leap on him and he's smart in his decision making too. That one moment where Van Dijk went to bully him off the ball (as he probably does against 95% of players he comes up against) and Watkins just brushed him off . It's early days, and I wouldn't say he's a bargain, but he looks like a proper forward and a very astute signing.
