Popular Post villabromsgrove
I watched Watkins in every televised Brentford match last season, and I'm praying we get this deal signed and sealed. My question to those of you unhappy with this possible deal is .... have you watched Ollie Watkins play 90 minutes regularly? He's a perfect fit for Villa. 4

Yes I'd say you're correct. Jokes aside I think we needed this type of signing, but still not comfortable about that kind of money for a 24/25 year old championship striker from a tin pot club. He could easily choke when he arrives at a big club.

You're thinking of small heath alliance. 4
mykeyb
If he costs £33 million then he will be a success so nothing to worry about.

dudevillaisnice
A lot of money but he has the attributes to do well in this league so let’s see.. I’ve got a feeling he will be our Antonio signing which I’d be happy with.
OutByEaster? Posted September 8, 2020 Moderator Share Posted September 8, 2020 Number of goals scored last season by the list from earlier (with added Wesley for fun). Raúl Jiménez- 17 goals Sebastian Haller - 7 goals Ismaïla Sarr - 5 goals Moise Kean - 2 goals Joelinton - 2 goals Ayoze Pérez - 8 goals Alex Iwobi - 1 goal Wesley - 5 goals How many do you fancy from Watkins in 2020-21? I'd like to think he'll reach double figures.
AVFCforever1991
He'll outscore Wilson I'm 100% certain of that

Lord Willard
Been really negative about this signing. I really feel his finishing isn't to the standard of the elite strikers but we aren't at that level yet. I was hoping we were in for Édouard and this signing means that will won't be happening. The positives I see from this is that there's little settling required and he is a work horse like Tammy was for us in the championship. If he doesn't score 15 goals next season he will be pressing and maybe the team will.score more instead

Haller is interesting and I expect him to deliver for the spammers next season. Watkins is a good good player.

WallisFrizz
I am delighted and not bothered about the price. I think by Christmas it will start to look like good value. Now keep going Villa.

We're not a media darling club, nor do we have a fashionable manager, plus most casual Premier League fans think we only stayed up because of that Hawkeye decision against Sheffield United. Villa dropping "33 Million for a Championship player" fits the narrative they already have written for us, just like "Bielsa manages to bring Spain's #1 striker to newly promoted Leeds" or "Wilson signs for Newcastle because of the film Goal" or "Wolves signs 'Wonderkid' from Portugal ahead of European giants" fits the stereotypical story for those clubs. 10
