Popular Post useless
Below scholarship age I think clubs go to a lot of lengths to give as little coverage as possible, as don't want to draw attention to players before they've signed on scholarship terms, no streams or highlights, no player profiles for pre-scholars on official website or any squad details at all for the U16s, The FA also stopped officially announcing England boys' squads at U15 and U16 level, supposedly at the request of clubs because of the idea that agents would use the squad list as list of names they could potentially target. I've read that some clubs even go to the length of not using the players' real names during games as don't want agents/scouts hearing the names and then looking them up, a lot of money is invested in these players, and potentially millions at stake should they develop into top players, so clubs going to do everything possible to avoid losing them, of course clubs lose players anyway, but I guess they do what they can to try and recude the possibility. Notice it's different on the girls' side of things, when our U14s, 15s, and U16 girls are called up by England they get congratulated by name on the official site and sometimes a picture is posted, something that never happens with the boys getting an England call up, despite more people being interested in that, also last season when our U16 girls won the FA Shield they were congratuled by the official twitter, but when our U14 boys won the Premier League Cup there was no official acknowledgement, and as of yet the club haven't given any coverage of the U16s win today, despite it probably being one of the two major trophies that can be won at that level as as far as I'm aware they don't play league football, most of the football they play is for fun with a few competitive tournaments thrown in, the two Premier Leagues ones, The Nationals that we won today, and the PL Cup being the big ones. Lack of coverage for U16s is probably a privacy thing to an extent, but I think some of it is also to do with clubs wanting as little attention on their prospects before they've signed scholarships as possible, of course some like Patterson, K Young, T Rowe, Broggio, Lynch, and so on come into the limelight at an earlier age because of playing ages up for the 18s or 21s, but I suspect those players have possibly already signed pre-agreements for scholarships and maybe professional contracts. AndyClarke
Absolutely as above, they hide behind safeguarding (although that is a relevant point) but reality is keeping the Vultures away. When I was at Villa it was definitely like that although as with most things people try to find a way around it......

useless
Official website acknowledged U16s tournament win after all... "Peter Saunders, Lead U15-16 Youth Development Phase Coach, said: “It’s a fantastic achievement for the young boys and a memory that will live with all of them and all of us (the coaches). “It highlights some of the fantastic work that’s going on across the whole club. The consistency and clarity of message of what we’re trying to achieve as a whole club is starting to come to fruition across the age groups. “Some of our other Academy teams won tournaments last season and the strategy is showing. It’s a fantastic time to be part of Aston Villa, be it as a fan, a staff member or a player.” The tournament brought together 26 Category One and two Category Two Academies in the group stage. The seven group winners progressed alongside the best runner-up into the knockout stages, with Villa eventually emerging victorious after a sudden death win in the shootout. “The boys are there to win – that’s what every player dreams of right from being a young boy when you start playing,” Saunders said. “There are so many people that have to be accountable for this success, right from the ownership to staff that have been here a long time and new staff as well. “The work and hours that go in, it’s great to see it paying off with some success.” OS Edited October 25, 2022 by useless

WallisFrizz
What’s going on with our u21s recently? They keep losing, lost again last night to a side made up of younger players apparently and we had given Archer a run out. Why so bad?
useless
There's another England U15 camp coming up, looks like they're using it to look at different players from those that were involed the last time, so Meade, Hayward, and Burrowes likely not involved this time, Burrowes on crutches in the U16 tournament photos anyway. 'Ollie Bindley' is in according to this page.
useless
Injury might not be as bad as crutches make it seem. The plan was always to have two camps with two different squads of eighteen players. So many players to choose from at that level, we've done well to have four in the thirty-six.
