sharkyvilla
I'm going to predict a big Biden win. I can't see the polls being wrong enough for Trump to win. He surely cannot have won many new votes, virtually zero from Democrat voters and many of the floating voters he got last time must regret their decision by now. Not to mention there will be a certain number of Republican voters who are appalled by him, easy to forget there are actually a lot of decent people in America too. You need to go through a f***-ton of legislation hoops, having a hunting license (or maybe being active in the military, not sure) to be able to sell hunting-gear and the permissions are only issued by the Police. The only store I know of besides the specialists to bother with it are some of the XXL sport stores. Assuming it's the Norwegian company, XXL sporting goods? Don't they all sell weapons? Think I've seen 308 rifles wherever I've been, and that sure ain't no air rifle ammo

Its also worth pointing out that its rare that the pollsters that got it closest last time, get closest the next time (well in the UK anyway)

You can buy a rifle and ammo online You need to send them all your permits before they grant you the pleasure. But still doable. The stores are more miss than hit (the swedish ones) because the reasons stated in the earlier post as far as I can see. They list the rifles as "out of stock" in stores on the website. I guess online sales are easier. Cut the prices and let people do the testing at other stores.

Following @HanoiVillan's question about their 2018 performance, if could just supplement that with their 2012 performance as well. I mean, you could have just saved the work by telling us which polls you were cherry-picking and we could check ourselves, but...

StefanAVFC Posted October 30, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted October 30, 2020 'The polls were wrong in 2016!' is overstated'. They got it right in the context of the popular vote which Hillary won overwhelmingly. From a data perspective, it's hard to get around the crazily undemocratic system the US have. 70,000 voters made the difference there.

Clinton actually received as many votes (give or take a few thousand ) as Obama did in 2012 to get his 322 electoral seats ... she ended up with 227 !! Amongst many flaws in the system , 48states give their college seats on a winner takes all basis , it’s pretty bonkers when you think about it

The Electoral College should be on the chopping block if the Dems take full control. But Biden will probably try to be everyone's friend and not do shit. Yep, it’ll be Trump and he will then try and change the laws so he can run for a third term.
