useless
I've got a somewhat positive post that will be music to people's ears should this proposed deal go ahead, that's just looking on the bright side, obviously still very disappointed, but it shall cast the deal in a more positive light. Not the only reason and may not even be the reason 1 minute ago, useless said: My takeaway from reading a lot of the comments on this thread is that many are clueless to how good he actually he is If he was that good then no way would Emery even consider this deal 3 minutes ago, useless said: but the gap between the two isn't as big as some think. Seems Emery doesn’t agree if the rumour is true. If you think money of £12m would be took for a slightly less JJ in AJ then you obviously don’t think much of Emery, Monchi and the club. They just have a different opinion to you on AJ.

My takeaway from reading a lot of the comments on this thread is that many are clueless to how good he actually he is, same people probably would have been happy to sell Jacob Ramsey when he first broke into the team because he didn't look like a world beater straight away. Aaron is a similar level to what his brother was at a similar age, Jacob had made a few appearances for our first team when it was a lot easier to break into our first team, and Aaron Ramsey has already proven himself as a top performer at Championship level, there's not much difference in what they've achieved at the same age, Aaron is also better at Jacob at certain aspects of the game, he's better technically for example, overall Jacob is obviously better and Aaron might never be quite as good, but the gap between the two isn't as big as some think. Nothing to do with JPB impressing more in his pre-season chances? Aaron's barely been involved. Are you sure if they were both impressing Unai similarly, he'd be getting rid of Ramsey so quickly. I like Aaron and want him to do well but the closer we get to being top 6, the greater the pressure on youngsters to be up and ready straight away. It was easy for Ramsey Sr and going back, Grealish to break through when they did. Now, it's tougher.
useless
Ramsey hasn't been available for pre-season, and he was actually very good against Walsall, also we would never decide to sell Ramsey and keep Philogene based on a few friendlies, pre-season games aren't that important. Burnley are a good club right now to develop players as well.

Emery is a winner and Aaron isn't ready for the Villa first team plain and simple. In contrast perhaps he feels Archer and Philogene are closer and reluctantly has made Aaron Ramsey available. Football is cut-throat, Villa can't stand still, neither can Emery he wants success now! Trust in Emery, he knows more than all of us combined. This. 100% this. The level required to play for us has been raised a lot in the last few months, and if Emery feels Ramsey isn't there then we have to trust him and his team. At least this explains why he suddenly disappeared from the friendly squads... As an aside, I wouldn't be surprised to see a similar outcome for Archer. Touchpaper lit, Im off...

If Ramsey turns into the player you think he is then we will definitely be triggering the buyback. If not, then we make a nice profit on him and move on.

Popular Post useless
I don't have good news as such, but I have a way of making the Ramsey sale not seem so bad, but I'll save posting the interesting view until the sale goes ahead if it does to try and cheer people up. 1 1

Yep, Emery sells a player that he doesn’t think will cut it at the level we need for good money. If he does suddenly click we have the option to buy back. Seems good news all around for us. Good news!

It doesn’t mean they can’t also accept other offers from other teams. If we activate the buy back clause, but City or Liverpool bid £35m, sorry, but the player is not choosing us. I don’t think you’re understanding the concept of a buy back clause
useless
Well that's utterly dumb, if Emery didn't think he could make it at this level we wouldn't be putting in buy-back-clause, without the buy-back-clause we could probably get nearly double the reported twelve million fee, the only reason the fee is as low as the reported twelve million is because of the buy-back, he's on same level as likes of Alex Scott and Chukwuemeka, and no Chelsea didn't over pay for Chukwuemeka, if he'd have been under a longer contract he would have cost more than twenty million. villan95
Hopefully this isn't another Gary Cahill. Although that will only be the case if we now go out and buy a bang average midfielder to replace him.
useless
If Emery or the club didn't rate him or rate his chance of making it in the Pemier League there wouldn't be a buy-back-clause, that's not something we can just add to the deal because it's convenient to us, adding that to the deal means we get a much lower feel than we would have done without the clause, so if we didn't rate him we would have left the clause and got a much bigger fee. It's like when people talk about selling Archer for twenty million and inserting a buy-back, that's not going to happen, we wouldn't get twenty million plus for him and have the option of a buy-back, if we wanted buy-back in Archer sale we would have to accept a much smaller fee

Not really, if Emery thought he could cut it at the level we need we wouldn’t be selling. The buy back clause is just good business sense and probably something Monchi has brought into negotiations now he’s taken over and will likely happen for many youth sales. ”without the buy-back-clause we could probably get nearly double the reported twelve million fee, the only reason the fee is as low as the reported twelve million is because of the buy-back” nearly double? You’re having a laugh! If Emery had any thought about AJ for us, he wouldn’t be leaving!
