Hoffenheim has put the whole club, players and staff under quarantine.

Some international friendlies cancelled but most are still being played which an absolute joke. It's as bad as it was this spring but lets pretend it's not.

How daft do you have to be to throw a party during lockdown that results in you not being allowed to take part in the play offs for the Euro's next summer :D

No idea how important  Jordan Jones and George Edmundson are for Northern Ireland but I imagine they feel pretty silly now.

More and more players are testing positive from international duty. It’s bloody stupid to have an international calendar outside of qualifiers this season. All these pointless friendlies, taking players across the globe can’t do anything but spread the disease.

Its so stupid. I thought this Nations League was brought about to get rid of friendlies. So pointless, and you’d think the amount of players now contracting covid would lead to them having a rethink ffs

In a window where there was already 2 competitive games why on Earth add a friendly?

Croatia's Vida subbed off after positive Covid-19 test in Turkey draw

The veteran defender was withdrawn and immediately isolated from the rest of the team

Croatia centre-back Domagoj Vida was substituted at half-time in the 3-3 friendly draw with Turkey on Wednesday after testing positive for Covid-19.

Though Vida, along with the rest of the team, had tested negatively on Monday, subsequent tests on the morning of the game resulted in a 'potentially positive result' being returned as the match was unfolding.

As a precaution, the 31-year-old, who plays club football for Besiktas, was taken off at half-time and put into immediate isolation with further testing confirming his positive Covid-19 diagnosis.

The Croatian Football Federation revealed the coronavirus scare post-match and were quick to stress that they had adhered strictly to all UEFA protocol.

"The medical service of the Croatian national team received initial information at the end of the break between the two halves that there was one potentially positive result. This is a common test procedure, and a 'suspicious' finding is retested to confirm the result," their statement read.

"As at that time the coach Zlatko Dalic had already made the decision to change Vida, the medical service of the national team isolated Vida according to all epidemiological measures until the confirmation of the test results.

"Vida will, in accordance with regulations, spend the next few days in self-isolation in Istanbul.

"All other national team members and staff members, who tested negative, are scheduled to travel to Stockholm. It is taken into account that the national team complied with all epidemiological measures, in accordance with UEFA's Return to Play protocol."

Croatia came from behind twice on Wednesday before themselves squandering a lead in a seesawing 3-3 draw.

Just the 16 tested positive in the latest round of tests in Premiere League

I want to see prosecutions tbh.

The lengths that clubs go to in order to "bubble" their players, the consequences to clubs if players test positive, and these clearings in the woods are sending players  on international trips, mixing with other players, while the pandemic is ramping back up.

It's entirely unnecessary, and if UEFA & co don't end up with blood on their hands, it's more luck than judgement.

Jese sacked by PSG for breaching covid rules going out partying and cheating on his girlfriend.

One has to wonder if they would take the same stance on Neymar but nice t see a club taking action against unprofessional players.

apparently it wasnt his first offence plus he has always been a piece of shit going back to his Real days. The most surprising part is he was a PSG player so long

Probably one of those situations where a player was given a contract much to expensive compared to his ability so that no club was willing to buy him or sign him even on a free.

Like the ones we used to hand out :(

Can remember them loaning him to Stoke three seasons ago and he quickly lost interest when they were in relegation zone and was bad influence around dressing room. Think he then got back to Las Palmas and they got relegated aswell.
