After all there are 6 days before the game and a lot can happen before then If they do keep rising and Omicron does prove anything other than significantly milder, I think the Government will take match attendance out of the clubs hands.

Comments from the Burnley Chairman basically saying Prem players should find a new career if they refuse the jab. A lot apparently won't have it likely due to the alarming rise in the number of deaths and heart issues in atheletes & footballers after having had the jab the World over. All researchable on online for those who want balance. This bizarrely does not get covered in the report however. CLICKY QUOTE: Burnley owner Alan Pace reckons that footballers who choose not to get vaccinated should look for new jobs, after the Clarets’ game against Aston Villa was called off on Saturday. Pace, who had been making his way to Villa Park on Saturday morning before the game was confirmed as being postponed by the Premier League a little over two hours before kick off, has been left frustrated this past week; Burnley’s game with Watford in the week was also called off. Coupled with their recent meeting with Tottenham being called off because of inclement weather and a pitch that wasn’t fit for football in the snow, it’s left the Clarets with quite a backlog of games to fulfil. Pace is not amused and believes that there is an obligation for footballers to be vaccinated if it is in the interests of everyone else. READ: Premier League release lengthy statement after Villa v Burnley is called off READ: Jack Grealish makes frank Villa admission after leaving for Man City “It worries me for a number of different reasons but these are personal choices for people,” Pace told the Sun. “It can’t be, though, that you put everybody else at risk. “If they choose not to get vaccinated, then they may have to choose a different career. “Freedom to choose something different doesn’t mean you get the same rights and opportunities given to you if you choose to do something that’s not in the best interests of everyone else.” How does getting a booster protect others?

Mental. I supposed the clubs never really envisaged they would get to the scenario where they were ever likely to only have 13 players available. Still can't believe the clubs agreed to this. I am guessing that the PL has taken the opportunity to remind them how much they will have to return to the TV companies if they don't play. The Fun Factory
So when inevitably games get called off hours before kick off again, will they refund fans their travel expenses? Will they boll*cks.

The_Steve
The sad reality is, the league cares more about overheads and appeasing sponsors over the fans getting screwed over because they want to sit on their hands and have their cake and eat it. It’s deeply unfair that so many fans are left out of pocket. But Amazon, BT, and Sky come first.
WallisFrizz
There’s going to be some crazy results come out of this. It’s been reported that one of the fixtures called off over the weekend was more due to unvaccinated players having to self isolate following a contact than positive cases. Hard to work out where we are this and how many first teamers we can field. I don’t blame the clubs for playing their cards close to our chest. Less likely to spread it. Simple stuff. I'd rather listen to multiple scientists than Joe Bloggs down the street who had an itchy arse after the first jab. Not to mention less people in hospital means other people with other illnesses can be treated in a timely manner. A friend of mine lost her father to cancer because they had to delay his surgery due to COVID patients taking up beds. "Studies show that a booster dose increases the levels of antibodies significantly above the level seen after two doses, which some hope means waning immunity will occur more slowly after a third dose, though insufficient time has passed to determine if this is the case. Early studies also suggest that the quality of antibodies is higher following a booster. The immune system continues to refine exactly which antibodies are selected and amplified based on subsequent encounters with the virus or vaccine, and studies suggest there is a broader, more potent immune response following a third dose." Link The aim is also to reduce transmitability though it's about ensuring people face a reduced risk if already vaccinated. The danger is that too many players simply aren't and it's spread much more easily. 1
