It was based on posts from Sat that you might have missed , and by fortuitous luck an open goal was presented that even Ronnie Rosenthal couldn’t have missed ... Fair play though , it was taken in good humour by those involved .
LakotaDakota
Bad news for gay redneck polygamists, Con men, Cult leaders & Husband murderers... A Tiger at New Yorks Bronx Zoo has apparently tested positive for Covid-19, 3 other tigers & 3 lions at the zoo may also have it apparently. https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2020/04/05/bronx-zoo-tiger-tests-positive-covid-19/2952027001/ Published 6:54 PM EDT Apr 5, 2020 NEW YORK - Federal officials confirmed a tiger at the Bronx Zoo tested positive for COVID-19, the first known instance of a tiger being infected with the virus. Nadia, a four-year-old Malayan tiger, was tested after her sister Azul, two Amur tigers and three African lions developed a dry cough. The animals are all expected to recover. "We tested the cat out of an abundance of caution and will ensure any knowledge we gain about COVID-19 will contribute to the world’s continuing understanding of this novel coronavirus," said the Wildlife Conservation Society, which manages the Bronx Zoo. The United States Department of Agriculture’s National Veterinary Services Laboratories confirmed the tests on Sunday and is working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention along with state animal and public health leaders to determine whether animals, at the zoo or in other areas, should be tested for COVID-19. The USDA said there have not been reports of pets being infected with COVID-19 in the United States, but recommended that people with COVID-19 limit contact with animals until more information is known about the virus. If a sick person must care for a pet or be around animals, they should wash their hands before and after the interaction, the department said. Popular Post TheAuthority Posted April 6, 2020 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted April 6, 2020 Things hit a bit close to home in the last 24 hours. Firstly a viola player of over 30 years in the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra (New York) died last night of Covid-19. 61 years old, leaving his wife and son. Also Face-timed with my cousin today (Wollaston near Stourbridge, W.Mids.) He and his wife both have it and her father passed away last night in hospital with it. They have no idea when the funeral will be. She was fortunately able to be with him at the end. But to know 2 people who have passed in 24 hours is unreal. Just some extra info; My cousin is also ex -RAF, worked for MI-6 and is now a civil servant. Want to know if he's healthy? He runs 24 hour races and wins Iron Man's in his age group. He couldn't breath or get out of bed last week. Please stay safe folks and take this seriously. If you think taking precautions like wiping down your shopping is going overboard wouldn't you rather be safe than sorry? Hopefully in a year or two we will be saying 'do you remember that time when we were disinfecting everything every 5 minutes,' and not 'do you remember him.' Much love to all you VT'ers. (Even the word removed's in on topic.)
leemond2008
I must have been extremely lucky so far because I don't know a single person who has caught it yet, I know a few who self isolated but that was just for a sore throat or cough and no other symptoms. You're unlikely to know whether anyone has genuinely 'had it' unless they get admitted to hospital, as we aren't testing anyone except hospital patients. Sore throat and cough could easily be mild covid.
Popular Post Rob182
My dad has amazingly beaten it. He's 66 next week, he has throat cancer and he has existing heart problems (stent etc). We were all bricking it that if he got it he'd be done for. A few weeks ago he had a temperature of 39.1 but when the paramedics arrived, they said they weren't concerned, and that it seemed more to do with his heart (high heart-rate too) than Covid. They took him to hospital anyway, and he stayed there for 4 days until his temperature went down. Other than a high temperature and generally feeling lethargic, he didn't really have any serious symptoms. Test results came back a week later, and we were all expecting the docs to say "nope, just a different virus", but they confirmed it was Covid. It's seems that it's a blessing in disguise that the NHS messed around his chemo treatment/results for ages, because until this week, he hasn't had a chemo treatment since the end of January. My assumption is that his immune system managed to strengthen itself in the 2-month chemo break. It's mad to think that, had his chemo gone ahead as it should have in Feb/March, that Covid could possibly have killed him. Stay safe everyone

The rules apply to everybody because the government want to pay people to protect their jobs and keep them the f*** at home regardless of the size of company they work for. I'm really not sure why you think they should. Just because they have money? Thats silly. This really isn't about which comapnies have money and those that don't. It isn't a bail out of the banks. Its supporting the entire economy If it's the right thing to do for the economy and it's what the government want them to do, why are clubs like liverpool getting so heavily criticised for it? And if it is so the right thing to do, should man city be criticised for not doing it? Edited April 6, 2020 by DCJonah
magnkarl
I'm glad that Spain and Italy are finally starting to look like they're over the hump. The next epicenters will probably be UK, USA, Russia and possibly Eastern Europe. I presume the numbers out of Russia are clear hogwash. It will be good to see what sort of policy the countries that are now looking to the future will introduce so that our team of idiots can try to pick the least crappy alternative when we're out of the woods.

It's the media trying to create a figure of hate, it's neither useful nor clever, in fact it's dangerous. On point 2, thats up to Man City, they shouldn't be praised or criticised for it, they might have some work for them to do, who knows?

Popular Post pas5898
Woke up with a fever and really tight chest. Feels like someone has put a 15kg weight on there, coughing a little. Filled in the online form, NHS called me back (because of the kids have also been unwell) and told us to self isolate immediately and we most like have it. Saturday I felt absolutely fine. Sunday I felt weak. Now imagine I'd been out an about this weekend, bumping into various families at the parks. We live in a small terrace with an extremely small concrete garden, believe me we wanted to take the kids out to the local park. We were tempted to make an unnecessary trip to Costco. We never. I had absolutely no idea I was unwell until yesterday, but I could have spread it to dozens of others. This is why you stay home. Thankfully I've not met anyone in over a week.
