bobzy
He's very obviously VERY right footed. Should have connected with the Grealish through ball - the Targett cross one was tougher. Not much to take from it. He got in the right positions but didn't manage to get shots away. As long as he keeps doing the first bit, then the second should follow. supermon
His disallowed goal was sweet though
jacketspuds
He has been in a great goalscoring position twice in his first game for the club. The first he tucked away, and I think he was just very rusty causing him to misjudge the second.
M_Afro
I bet he has never experienced anything quite like that before in his career. Talk about memorable debuts. Crazy times
osmark86
aside from the obvious missed sitter I'm liking his movement and it made us strong going forward. goals will come, he's not going to miss that every time, that was the exception.

On tonight's showing he was wary of his left but if you have a look at his previous goals he's got plenty off it. Hopefully will come. Very unfit, but in the right place most of the time. I'll take a good 65 mins again at Bournemouth if you can give it us Sama. Not as quick as I'd like but plenty to work with. Pukki doesn't have much pace and is fine, get men around him. 2

villa4europe
I thought at times grealish was superb at spotting him not having the fitness for the press and stepping in agree with the pace and would also add the Turkish brute and the Evans with his experience probably gave him a bit of a shock too, chilwell dropped him in the 2nd half Edited January 28, 2020 by villa4europe
Johnnyp
No sitting on his arse and sulking when he loses a ball. That's a start. Good attitude. Unlucky with the missed chance, happens.
CosmicVillan
Looks promising..I think he will make the step up..did he come off with cramp ? Just shows you how much more intense it is between Prem teams.

Keener window-cleaner
He didn't get injured I hope? Would have loved for him to score, I though that was a good and promising debut. Managed to get into several great positions, just unlycky he didn't score. The offside goal was soo sweet with the pass from jack and everything, that derserved so much to be a goal. Vive_La_Villa
Good debut but as expected he will need to work on his fitness and get used to the pace of the game in this country. You can see lots of promise though. Plus he won’t have all the pressure on him now the way Wesley did as Davis looked superb when he came on. Villarocker
I was impressed. Yes, he missed a sitter. But, overall, he gave me the impression that he k ows how to get into positions to be able to get chances to score and that's a great sign. He did it on several occasions. He's lean and will undoubtedly look to run off the shoulder of defenders and I like that kind of forward.

Just shows you how much more intense it is between Prem teams. It is generally how prem teams beat lower league sides. The last 20 minutes the lower league teams are gassed and the prem teams could probably keep it up for another half-hour.
Farlz
Can't believe he didn't get any connection on the Grealish ball, what a moment that would've been. Not fantastic but obviously needs to get up to speed. Hopefully have another new striker and Davis will ease the pressure for him. Genie
A good contribution, he struck me to be lacking match fitness. Just didn’t seem to be as sharp as he could be. I’m sure it’ll come, got himself into the right places which is very encouraging.
Stevo985 Posted January 28, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted January 28, 2020 Quite impressed with what I saw. Such a shame for him (and my nerves) that he didn't bury that tap in.
