wilko154
Nyland Konsa - Mings - Hause Guilbert Luiz Nakamba Targett Grealish El Ghazi Kodjia No doubt about it, this is going to be tough. However if we can get to the 2nd leg drawing, one behind or possibly even two behind, then we have a chance of turning it around at the end of January with a few new signings at a packed out Villa Park. Looking forward to it and I will be there fully behind the team as always. Keep the faith.
Hornso
Need to get back to Villa Park with the tie not out of hand, and then who knows.
Tomaszk
Good chance to test someone else at LWB. Guilbert maybe with Elmo over at RWB. Be better than Taylor. Honestly don't know what to do. If we go full strength, new formation and all, we could still take an absolute pasting. Then again, I've just remembered we've got City at the weekend anyway. Just don't think it'd be good for confidence to get a whipping in the cup as well. Ideal world, we go strong a get a good result. I think that's how Smith's brain works. WakefieldVillan
If Targett isn't fit I personally would go with a back 3 (or back 5) of; Nyland Konsa Chester Mings Guilbert Hause Even if he is fit, I'd still be tempted by this. Think Chester was probably our best player on Saturday and looks to be returning to match fitness. Given the above and the fact we're away from home against a good side, that bit of extra experience (with the pace of Mings & Konsa each side to hopefully take care of Vardy) might give us a more solid look about us?!
Czechlad
3-4-3 but put Targett in for Taylor, and Conor for Nakamba. Rest keep the same.

AVTuco Posted January 6, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted January 6, 2020 Gotta go with that 5-3-2 again Smith. Forget about your 4-3-3 just for once.
alreadyexists Posted January 6, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted January 6, 2020 I think we will go: Nyland Engels Mings Konsa Guilbert Targett Luiz Hourihane El Ghazi Kodjia Grealish
Tom13
Why is everyone going AEG over Trez? Trez played well against Burnley.

Nakamba closest we have to a DM. Conor is horrific in that role. Classic example Forest scoring 5 in the 5-5. Conor was all over the shop Edited January 7, 2020 by Kiwivillan

siminjo
I really hope we save Grealish and Mings for the PL, imagine what a injury to them (especially Grealish) would cost us. Then we will guaranteed start the next season in the championship.

Nigel Posted January 7, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted January 7, 2020 Tbh I thought I'd never say this again but I think taylor may be the best option against these. We need to keep it tight and he is, if nothing else, a decent defender.
