I would think it would be more along the lines of good riddance. A quick Google says Gazza, Ozzy Osbourne, Slash, Johnny Depp, Nicolas Cage, and Charlie Sheen have all been charged with domestic abuse at some point in their lives... and I think are still relatively popular / sympathetic figures? When you can see there's an element of mental health troubles, then there is always scope for some compassion, even if you condemn the act they were guilty of. In this case, I believe a lot of the outrage over what she did is down to the Sun reports and leaked photo implying that the blood all over the bed was from the wound to her partner's head. I think this is contested - that she had actually cut herself (accidentally by smashing up random objects and deliberately by cutting her wrists)... it's nuances like this that come out in a proper court case, not in trial by media. What she did was wrong, but there's a new fundamentalism that has emerged on Twitter, where no sense of scale or proportion is ever applied to anything. A person says one racist thing and they are as bad as Adolf Hitler. A woman hits her partner in the heat of the moment and she is as bad as Rosemary West. It's horrible, I hate it.

If people are struggling currently... speak up, speak to organisations like Mind, Samaritans etc...You are never alone. Trust me! Speak out... Seek the help.. you are not alone.. Real shame and terrible news to hear a popular presenter has taken their own life. RIP. You never truly know what people are going through and sometimes the people with the biggest smiles are the ones struggling the most.
Popular Post Stevo985 Posted February 16, 2020 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted February 16, 2020 It’s possible to think somebody assaulting their boyfriend should be treated seriously and criticised; AND think it’s sad that that person feels so low that they’ve taken their own life; AND be sickened that they’ve probably been pushed this far by the media. It’s not a simple this person is good or this person is bad. Life isn’t that simple.

rjw63
Former MUFC 'keeper Harry Gregg. 87. First I heard was on radio news when "Sir Alex Ferguson is sad because Harry Gregg died". It's like Whiskey-Pox's feelings are the bigger story.
Seat68
Andy Weatherall has died apparently. The cause of death was a pulmonary embolism according to the BBC. Edited February 17, 2020 by Seat68

Seat68
I don't own much by him because I blame the entire genre of indie dance on him. I do own this though.

chrisp65
Ahh that’s a shame. Responsible for arguably one of the best albums of all time.

I was meaning to mention this to you anyway. Primal Scream asked AW to produce XTRMNTR but he turned them down as he didn't like the material, as told to my mate Joe at a Primals gig in Manchester RItz by AW himself

Seat68
I am sure there is a lot of AW records up on the top floor of my house, Primal Scream, my bloody bloody valentine, all manner of remixes on bsides I will wager. Potentially for us people that liked white boys with guitars, he was the most famous remixer there was.

It wasn't him that remixed (read: ruined) the Tom Dowd mixes of "Give Out But Don't Give Up", was it? EDIT: OK, I checked, it was George Clinton.
