Popular Post The Fun Factory
Hello darkness my old friend.... Back to back Wembley defeats v Man U in the league cup final and Chavski in the semis, and realising this was as far as O'Neill would take Villa. Selling Milner and O'Neill walking out in a hissy fit less than a week before the season starting. Thinking Stephen Ireland was the ideal replacement Gerald Houllier love in at Anfield. Losing to Blues in league cup quarters Hiring Mcleish and the turgid football all season Charles Nzgobia Tonev- Quite possibly the worst Villa player I have ever seen. Buying Shay Given and giving him a 5 year contract Lambert's first season- 8-0 defeat to Chelsea, and the Bradford City shambles Lambert's second season and the fans turning against him in the last few away games. Lerrner giving up on Villa. Sense of total drift and decay all the way through the club. Numerous other cup embrassments Milwall, shef utd and not even being surprised by it. Giving Lambert a new contract because he beat Liverpool away Seeing Gabby go from a England fringe player to a fat bastard. Tom Fox Hull City away The relegation season- apart from Bournemouth away just complete dog turd. Just knowing that we had stunk the whole league out by being there. Getting a barely deserved draw at Wycombe. Players not caring. Lescott's new car. 6-0 to Liverpool. Hiring RDM and lasting ten games. Spending a huge amount of money on rubbish players. Bruceball. Lose to Peterborugh in the cup. Losing to Barnsley midweek with about 27,000 in. Beating Wolves and then losing to a rubbsh Bolton side and blowing an automatic spot. Losing to Fulham in the play off final. The financial meltdown in the summer and Villa being that close to administration before the new owner saving the day. Need I go on? They just came up against probably the best PL side in history. No shame there apart from the scoreline. Whereas we may as well not have been there. It would have been less embarrassing if we forfeit the match beforehand.

I'll try and be diplomatic by saying that was and will always be a sure sign it's time to take your millions and move on in life. Though the very fact he made such a tweet makes me wonder what his motivations in football were long before that blunder. Purely insulting and ungrateful spoiled brat who thinks he's better and above the hard work that feeds him, surprised he can wipe his own ass. Yeah, that one really got to me. It's Your Round
Reading this depressing review of the last decade only makes me pleased that I’ve been following Villa since 1992. Nobody can take those happy memories away from me!

wilko154
I'm going for the 3 highs of the decade and the 3 lows Lows Losing the Playoff Final in 2018, genuinely one of the worst days in football I've ever experienced and took me months to get over. The Summer of 2018 when it looked like Aston Villa would be gone forever. The 2015/16 season, the most miserable season I have ever witnessed from start to finish with the club being toxic from top to bottom. Highs Winning promotion back to the Premier League at Wembley. You couldn't ask for a better way to do it, a day I'll never forget. The appointment of Dean Smith. The first managerial appointment of the decade that was thought out, it felt like we finally had our club back together. The rise of Jack Grealish. For years it was talked about that there was a talent in the youth teams, but to have watched him come through from the FA Cup Semi Final at Wembley, the injuries along the way, taking up the captaincy and then lifting the Playoff Final last season. Proud is an understatement.
MarkLillis
1. FA Cup final - not a shot on goal.....pathetic 2.Bolton at home under McLeish, atmosphere was toxic and it was then I realised we were not just having a bad patch. 3.Chelsea 4.Bradford 5.The Albion defeats. Hard to take at the time.....although we have now recovered some pride.

Guest av1
As I only started taking my son about 7yrs ago my saddest moments would be: 1) 'Dad did we honestly used to be good' 2) 'Dad do you think we'll get to see us win this season? 3) 'Dad do you think we'll ever get out of the Championship? 4) 'Dad I think Leroy Fer would be a cracking signing'

No I am not having that. Tactics Tim is not even in the top 20 worse things that happened at Villa in the last 10 years. He somehow kept us up (probably more luck than by judgement) and took us to a FA Cup Final. Ok the final was garbage but beating Liverpool was one of the best things at Villa since 2010, and the two wins versus Albion were massive as well. He also gave Jack his first proper run in the team and always speaks well of the Villa after he left unlike other former managers. He should have been let go in the summer and we should have got a proper manager in but for a few months he brought more passion and energy to Villa than the five years previous, however misguided his style is/was. He had a better win percentage than either Mcleish or Lambert- ok that is not saying much but still.
