They feel at home, they feel confident, they feel loved. Every player uses a team as a stepping stone. Even Jack is using us a stepping stone in a different way. It's the way of football. However, if he was the 2nd of 2 strikers then I would be happy with that. Look at Mousset at Sheff Utd. Awful at Bournemouth and been one of their best players this season. Sometimes it just works. For Older ones : Gary Birtles was a good example. Good at Forest earnt move to Man U, Bad.. Moved back to Forest.
Popular Post Wes
Going back and re-reading the various articles out of Romania about the agent who would be "sending a player to Aston Villa", I think a few things about this whole story have been lost in translation. On the 5th of January, the Steau Bucharest (otherwise known as FCSB) owner Gigi Becali said that he had turned down a 10m Euro bid for 21 year old attacking midfielder/winger Dennis Man. The translated article from the actual outlet (GSP.RO) is the following: "Even yesterday I had a 10 million offer on Man and I told them directly that I do not accept it. In the Premier League I think it was the team. They told me the team, but I can't tell you, I think it's the prima ligă engleză. I made it clear to those out there that I didn't give him 10 million. I asked for 20 million. When they give me what I asked for, then we will discuss it again, ” The reason I highlight prima liga engleza is that google translate will return that as "first division" in it when it's clear the intention was to say Top League of Premier League. Why is that important? Well if you look on twitter all the stuff in the past few days is that the bid for Dennis Man came from Birmingham City. First of all, they're not in the top league. The first mention of Birmingham in Romanian press comes from fanatik.ro: "Gigi Becali said it would be a Premier League team that wants Man, but FANATIK found out that the offer for the player is from the Championship, the second English roster - Birmingham City" The "journalist" who wrote this piece is Marian Popovici - he is unverified and has 178 followers on twitter. Putting these things together, I think it's very unlikely that Birmingham City made a bit for Man. I think the likes of the Birmingham Mail and folks on twitter have just run with it because why the hell not if your business is in generating hits. What I think is more likely, especially after the Romanian Agent was directly quoted as saying he was sending a player to Aston Villa, is that it was in fact us that bid for Man. Now whilst he doesn't appear as a registered player for the agent if you look at transfermarkt, if you read some of these articles, the agent - Ioan Becali - is known to have strong links to FCSB so it could be for any of their players. Also worth noting that FCSB have in this window signed Darius Olaru (someone we were linked with in the summer) who plays fairly similarly to Dennis Man. Maybe as a young replacement? I can't say completely as I'm not completely familiar with either of them. Be interesting to see how this Romanian link finishes up by the end of the window. Note: I could be completely wrong on all of the above and it might have been City all along but this speculation was an easy enough way to spend a lunch-hour. Make of it what you will! 5

Lots of room for improvement in many areas not just goals for Wesley. But he’s come on a bit in his last couple of games, so it’s frustrating for us all, him especially, that he’s got injured now. He did well for us, and we like him, but the feeling wasn't/isn't mutual. That we got the best out of him before he turned into a rubbish striker with a scoring record Heskey would be absolutely appalled by, is great for us. Thanks for the money, but no - please don't come back. Your first statement is an oxymoron. If he left at the first opportunity, how could he have also been trying to leave in the previous windows? And secondly, he could've done a lot more to force the move back then. So its not just a case of him not leaving earlier because he couldn't. But there are a lot of players in Europe’s big leagues on shitty wages that would jump for a chance to play in the Premier League. They would probably even play the Championship. They are all a risk though. A risk is an understatement. The players who are willing to go to us at this moment without PL experience are likely gonna be from an even worse caliber than the ones that came to us in Summer. Popular Post Mazrim
You dont stop being a big club because you're going through a relatively hard time. If you think you do... Congratulations, you are now in lockstep with Skysports and have been brainwashed. Please choose from one of our top 6 bestest clubs... Incidentally. A player is looking for a job. He doesn't give a toss who is big or not. They will go where the money is and where best suits their prospects. Whether its Leicester or Luton Happily, Villa have megarich owners, 50, 000 supporters trying to get to each match and the biggest club for 100 miles in every direction. So when I hear we're not a big club, I will say... Bollocks. 7
Bugzy1991
Crystal palace was the perfect team for benteke to re-start his career given he should thrive on a counter attack direct team but he's struggled badly there. He can't do it for Crystal palace then I don't see how he can do it for us. But if it's the only striker available and it's a loan then I don't really see what choice we got.

He is not the main man there. They have Zaha who is the Star. i think Benteke would be good here with the crosses we provide. Wesley have not made contact with any of them.
