We'll probably know on Wednesday - with no Watkins and Duran, he's currently the only senior striker at the club.

I'd like to see Operation: Big Morgz up top kick-off ASAP.

Unai said almost 2 months ago he’s coming back. But it still hasn’t happened.  Unless, of course, we intend to sell him to say Bournemouth or someone. It’s all just very odd.

He was on Sheffield United's retained list as of May because they weren't releasing him, he wasn't leaving them on a free transfer, his contract with them ran until 2027, so he wouldn't go on their released list, released list isn't for players that are being sold.

So he’s still not returned yet. So, let’s say we buy him back for £10-14m and sell him for £20m, how would that work with PSR?

Buy for £14m, sell for £20m in the same summer = £6m PSR profit.

He's been back for days in the sense of having been re-signed by us, no idea if he's been back at Bodymoor yet

Also Sheffield United paid £9m for him plus another £9m if they had have stayed up, which they of course didn't, but also they didn't pay the full £9m, they only paid the first transfer installment, as is normal, so our buyback is whatever that transfer installment was, probably around £4m, we won't be paying anything like £10m to bring him back

Maybe it will be recorded on the accounts as them having paid £9m or £18m for him and us paying £9m to bring him back, no idea how all that stuff works, but in reality, we wil just give them back what they paid, which will have been the first installment, it essentially ended up being a glorified loan

We sold him for £9m (straight on the books) with a stay up clause of £9m more or a relegation clause that we buy him back for £9m…

they got relegated, so we buying him back for £9m, amortised over the period of his new contract (probably 4/5 years)

Oh. So, it was a for profit loan effectively?

Yeah pretty much. But with a gamble to get more money from them. It didn’t pay off, but at least we didn’t lose anything

I've seeng £14m quoted as the buyback price, is £9m definitely the price?

I’m not sure the exact numbers, yet it kind of doesn’t matter. It works out as a net zero. They’re just getting back what they paid. What ever it was
