M_Afro
If fit he must start every game. He is the only player who offers any presence in midfield. He is far from perfect but he is the best option available. Dean needs to stop the effing chopping and changing and stick to something.
Tom13
Way too early to write off. There's a good player in there.

tinker Posted January 1, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted January 1, 2020 1 minute ago, MaVilla said: How did he do? Played OK, kept his passes simple and covered plenty of ground and never hid. The system gave him and Douglas more freedom and less of the pitch to cover, Taylor and Frédéric pushed into midfield covering the left and right side. Sam-AVFC
I thought he looked more useful defensively being able to push up the pitch and hassle them on the ball.
villalad21
Still adapting to the league. We don't got time for it. I'd go and get Drinkwater on loan. Edited January 1, 2020 by villalad21 1
poitier
He wasn't great, but he is the only player we have who does what he does, and we need that.
Dr_Pangloss
Honestly did some great defensive work but was extremely poor on the ball at times.
Sulberto21
Improved as the game wore on. Did a lot of good defensive work in the second half.
Tomaszk
Got through loads of work. Terrifying having him in possession. Never looks like he's got hold of the ball. Caught out a few times today trying to do the right thing and look for a pass. Just speed up a bit please Marvelous. Long over full backs into space isn't the worst ball you'll ever play if you're stuck.
KentVillan
As some of the Bruges fans hinted, he seems to be more of a Kante-style marauding ballwinner than a Makelele-style holding midfielder. He's a hard tackler with bags of energy, but he lacks a bit of quality and composure in possession. The higher he plays, the less of a problem that is. The 3-4-3 system allowed him to play quite high, and I think he looked more confident, even getting involved in some nice one touch stuff around the box. I could see him having a good second half of the season, as the team gels. Clearly he isn't ever going to be a playmaker, but he wins possession in dangerous areas. There's a nice balance to his partnership with Luiz.
ciggiesnbeer
Old fashioned I know but I like to see a player of sustained energy and aggression. Sometimes that's enough.
Tom13
I don't think he's half as bad in possession as people are making out. Great pass in the lead up to the Grealish thunderbolt.
MaVilla
He played a couple of lovely lay off passes on the outside of the box, sure one of them was in the build up to one of our goals? Edited January 2, 2020 by MaVilla

sidcow Posted January 4, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted January 4, 2020 Gave the ball away so so many times either by dwelling on it and being robbed or just poor passing. Pretty diobolical really.
