Whilst totally deserved that does hinder our hopes of keeping him next season... if he plays for Brazil it is one less blockage to his work permit. Still, maybe we can persuade him to stay even if City come back with their millions. Edited September 18, 2020 by MrBlack
BleedClaretAndBlue
We’re going to be offering him a new deal and hopefully it gets signed; eradicating the buy-back
Phil Silvers
Hate to say but purely from a trading point of view, if City's buy back is 35m, they would be mental not to, that's like a 50% discount now.
bobzy
Obviously completely biased, but a very much deserved call up. He's only going to get better.
villalad21
Brazil already have Fabinho and Casemiro. Pretty stacked in that position i'd say

That would make no sense for them.

BleedClaretAndBlue
Of course but rewarding him a new deal you would assume would include liaising with City to take the clause out by paying them Xmillion. If they refuse then we are just going to be paying him extra for a year when we dont need to. I suppose he deserves it and it could act as good will for future if we do face outside competition to keep hold of him next season (ie. someone offers City a deal to buy him back just to sell again)
Popular Post Wezbid
Something is telling me that the buy back clause is in the contract between Villa and City rather than Dougie and Villa.
Popular Post briny_ear
So, anyone know? Is the buy-back clause in our contract with Man C or with Douglas Luiz?
Keyblade
We might have to finish top 6 or something this season to persuade him to stay next season and prevent him going back to City

Sulberto21
For the 38437th time the only way we eradicate the buy back clause is if we buy it out. The other way is the original expiration date that was set between us and city. Can anyone clarify this for me? And I don't mean like butter.
alreadyexists Posted September 18, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted September 18, 2020 If the buy back clause is in the contract with Man City rather than with Luiz... does that mean we can still loan Januzaj?
