Keyblade
You can tell he's still raw, but he's gonna be a big player in a couple of years. He has it all in his locker.
VILLAMARV
Did ok without having much to do I thought. Shades of Axel.
AVTuco Posted July 18, 2019 VT Supporter Share Posted July 18, 2019 Hope he gets some minutes in PL. I like what I see so far.
KenjiOgiwara
He looked quite good I must admit. A bit raw, and he has mistakes in him, but if he keeps developing we got a real gem
Tomaszk
Incredibly comfortable with the ball. Wouldn't be surprised to see him used at DM at some point.
villan-scott Posted July 21, 2019 VT Supporter Share Posted July 21, 2019 Looked comfortable on the ball as expected. He’s bigger than I thought he’d be. A very very good prospect/player on our hands.

sir_gary_cahill
Great player I think, Mings and Konsa already look to be forming a great partnership at centre back. Konsa can go as far as he wants I think, he has a great future ahead of him. Konsa is so good on the ball
MaVilla
Will be interesting to see if it's konsa or Engels who partners Mings. Nobody say Chester, oh Lordy lord don't...
Keener window-cleaner
I'm looking forward to seeing more of his passing and him driving forward. The two halves I've seen him so far he has most of the times just made the simple safe pass to the other CB or to the RB. Perhaps he is just buliding up his confidence. He has looked solid and assured, but would like to see him pick out forward passes more.

During the season I expect Konsa to take over that place.

Because Chester isn't good enough AND his long term fitness is highly questionable. even his short term fitness is questionable.

Because that is our weakest position, by far, and he has played there before. I agree I'd like to see him develop as a CB, but even with all the signings we've made, we still have a thin squad, and we'll need a few players to show versatility. Sometimes putting out your best 11 means playing 1 or 2 players out of position. Even the top clubs have one or two utility players, and I see Konsa as having the all-round game to cover at DM. I've never bought into this "jack of all trades, master of none" idea. Do you think James Milner would have 2 Premier League medals and a Champions League medal if he'd dug his heels in about playing his preferred position every week?
KMitch
Why is it whenever we have a CB who doesn't just hoof the ball into touch, we get into this whole "He should play DM" debate? 2

He played rb and cb more. 3 hours ago, KentVillan said: Because that is our weakest position, by far, and he has played there before. If a centre half can pass, we need to be open to him playing out of position to punish him.
