MellbergsBeard
A good opportunity for the youngsters to get a proper feel for some competitive football, I can't see us getting out of any group though.
ender4
I don’t get it. Whats the EFL trophy? Its not the league cup? A new trophy? Why are only 16 Premier League clubs invited? What’s happened to the other 4?
StewieGriffin
Football League Trophy - formerly known as Autowindscreen Shield, LDV Trophy, Checkatrade Trophy etc etc I think its the top 16 rated Premier league academies that get an invite? (Not 100% sure on that, but it's an invite for the PL U23s for definite) None of the PL U23s have done well since this format was introduced, so it'll be interesting to see how ours do

Dr_Pangloss
What an utterly pointless tournament.
sne
Because there isn't already too many games in the calendar... For teams that do well that is.

blunther
WTF. So it's the normal Auto Windscreens things, but with 16 Academy teams, and we're one of them? Cool.
Tomaszk
I've got mates who are Bury and Tranmere fans. Plus one who was never really into football but has adopted Salford as he lives right by ground. Maybe I'll visit them. Us and no other teams should be allowed a U23 side though. Another way that allows big teams to hog all the players. Andy81 Posted July 13, 2019 Visiting Supporter Share Posted July 13, 2019 Was a good final last season, only game I watched in the competition, but it's definitely a worthwhile break from the league for the teams down there.
