I can’t remember another Villa player in history being so bad and retaining their place in the side. He must be contractually obliged to play every single game. It’s the only explanation. As much as I like Smith, I won’t bat an eyelid if he’s sacked now. You simply cannot keep starting this buffoon and expect to keep your job. Depressing. Although possibly today starting up front in a partnership with Trez, looking at the line up? Unless we are 5-4-1 with two traditional wingers... or Konsa in midfield... DCJonah
This game shows why he has been our biggest problem. Because when he plays well we are a different team. Everton (h) Norwich (a) and today are probably our best performances and imo are Wesley's best performances. We need him to be like this to stay up. Great first half.

Good Wes = very good performance. I doubt a good Kodja would bring as much to this side. It's as if Kodja always gives 80%. With Wes, it's either 60% or 100%.

When he's dreadful it makes everything so much harder. Our attack is stifled and the pressure is always on the defence. Now, today he's involved, passing well and getting a goal and we look superb. I didn't think he was capable of turning it round so very happy so far. Edited January 1, 2020 by DCJonah

Vive_La_Villa
Played well today. Kept possession for us well and worked hard. Topped off with a good goal. It was even more telling when Kodija came on. If the club wernt going to sign a striker before they have to now. Hopefully injury not too serious.
