mjmooney Posted June 29, 2005 VT Supporter Share Posted June 29, 2005 'kinnell you lot - what do you fill 'em with? My 5-year old PC came with a 30Gb drive which I thought was ridiculously larger than I'd ever need - and it still is! It's never been more than half full, and that's with music files, graphics, etc. Mind you I don't store video on there, which I would imagine takes up a fair bit. Well, music stands at about 55gb TV shows downloaded from UKnova is about 30gb Games, probably another 40gb (Steam/Half Life 2 is 8gb on its own!) Dunno what the rest is full of, but its getting full! you can get a decent quality 200gb hard drive for about £60 these days, which is very cheap inst it? Tegis Posted June 29, 2005 VT Supporter Share Posted June 29, 2005 A bought a 36 gig raptor (WD) disc last month. I't cost the same as a 200 gig one but the speed of it is out of this world. Highly recommended as a system drive.

Designer1 Posted June 29, 2005 VT Supporter Share Posted June 29, 2005 80gb internal and 120gb external which I use mostly for a secondary scratch disk for Photoshop. Most of my drive gets filled with unflattened PSD's the largest of which is 15gb and has 140 layers!
mockingbird_franklin
my pc contains 2 sata drives with 160gb and 80gb, and two further ata drives with 80gb each, so that's 480gb of space, they are about 1/2 full of music, video, games etc, but since buying a dvd burner Hard drive capacity isn't anywhere near as important as it used to be, just archive so much to dvd now. Amsterdam_Neil_D
I bought my own cloud of 1.5 TB's + whatever is in the house so I suppose total storage is around 3-5 TB's not counting Ps4. My first computer device was a Sinclair ZX81 with 1024 kb volatile storage. It had to be assembled by yourself at that point also.
