Game moved - Sunday noon

Given that we are mathematically in the playoffs and Sheffield United (Ipswich) and Norwich (Blackburn) have home bankers the day before, the epic end of season six pointer Sky were hoping for is probably going to be a dead rubber instead.  Will travelling fans be smug about Sky's misfortune or annoyed about the now seemingly pointless move?

A huge game eh? Not so sure about that. From our perspective the result is less important than keeping our key players fit and ready for the play offs

To be fair when Sky Sports called it a "huge game" Leeds were still fighting for automatics and Villa weren't guaranteed a play-off spot. A lot has changed in three weeks which I think is testament to how great the Championship is as anything can happen.

The dumbest move by sky. surely would have made more sense if this was Friday night or Saturday morning before the other games. Sheffield United should have promotion wrapped up making this 'huge' game anything but huge.

I'm sure if Sky could reschedule this now they would. Fortunately, they have to give more than a few days notice. At the time they picked this game in the 12 o clock spot they very easily could have had a game where both teams needed the win to clinch promotion/a playoff place. It hasn't worked out for them but if you add in the huge fan base of both of these clubs I can see why they've put this one on Sky.

Leeds vs Villa is still a big game. It will pull in a good amount of viewers for Sky. (shrugs)

Fairly certain every Villa Leeds game has been televised by Sky since we've been in the Championship.

But they wouldn't have known that when they rescheduled the game.  It's taken an unlikely run of results from Leeds and a quite frankly ridiculous run of results from Villa to render this game (almost) irrelevant but even if it were on Friday night or Saturday lunchtime it doesn't change the fact that we are already in the playoffs and that Leeds know they have cocked it up.  There's no way Sheffield United aren't taking the three points they need from games against Ipswich and Stoke.

@PieFacE nailed it too.  Leeds and Villa have got the two biggest fan bases in the Championship.  They've got bigger fan bases than half of the Premier League. Even if not many neutrals tune in to watch Sky will probably get "acceptable" numbers watching the game.  It's just not the blockbuster they'd hoped for.
