Basically, a defensive line, and TEAM full of BALL PLAYERS. Smith knows what he is doing! Sorry I mean the Brentford System know what they are doing. He's not a big CH but would be a decent sized DM and looks to have the skills, speed and physique to do a great destroyer-feeder job.

He got better last year but for most of the time he's been here he has been a weak link, straying into downright liability territory at times and that was in the Championship. I was thinking the other day does anyone wish him luck before a game and say "break a leg". Probably not
useless
Looking at Konsa's stats he played eight times in midfield for Charlton in the 2017 season, and then a couple more times last season with Brentford, so whilst I'm pretty sure he hasn't been signed with that position in mind, he's there as an option if needed. Whilst at Charlton he also played 22 games as a right-back. Edited July 11, 2019 by useless

Popular Post MrSmirch
What Premier league team will sell a good first team player of theirs? Let’s say you want Doucoure off Watford, great player and proven in the PL, would be looking at £40M+. Callum Wilson is being touted for even more than that and he’s had several massive injuries. Even the less established teams who you’d think 7/8 years ago would sell as soon as the top 4 came calling can now demand huge sums for their good players like Dunk, Maguire, Perez (£30M?!), Lanzini etc. Every footballer is a millionaire now so the desire to force through a move is probably lessened a good amount. The only times you’re going to buy off premier league teams is when the player wants to leave and won’t play or isn’t good enough for the club they’re currently at, and they’ll still charge loads e.g Targett, Ings, Vlasic. Half decently run PL teams are swimming in cash and can demand “F Off” money for their players, so “premier league experience” is something we should be avoiding if anything as it just means paying through your nose for a player who won’t be miles better than a cheaper option from a different market. 7

We certainly are having to rebuild the squad and therefore Smith is looking for versatility alongside youth, stamina and potential. Despite our wealthy owners, I think this is something we have to do as we don't have the money (can FFP limits, even after selling Villa Park to ourselves) to get absolute specialists at this point of our rebuild. I suspect that will follow if/when we re-establish ourselves in the Premier League beyond this coming season.

Villarocker
I know now why so many want us to sign Bjorn Engels and to play him as defensive midfielder, it's so we can all sing this: And our back four, he offers it protection, A lot of strength and aggression, whether it's right or wrong. If you tackle over the ball, you know that you won't break he, he's stronger than you and me, And if you think he'll fall, you're f**king crazy, He's Bjorn Engels - you're dead!
