Strong stuff from O'Brien this. I was also driving earlier and O'Brien had a guy phone in to defend Yaxley Lennon saying he hadn't been stoking the flames/inciting violence. He got about 15 minutes of airtime and everything he said was ripped to pieces. At the end of the conversation O'Brien asked if he would change his mind about anything and the guy said no he has his own thoughts. What hope have you got.

He won't admit his pov has been Dismantled but he will know it has.....

Dealing with my kids has shown me that talking sense is often met with denial and aggressive counter argument (never start a battle you can't win) but a few weeks on they, most times, see the sense you was talking.  You just have to let them digest the information you have given to them and don't,  what ever you do,  try and force your opinion on them, 9 times out of 10 they see the sense.

It's vital we all remember this,  plant the seed and let it grow , no need to fight it, give them the facts and let them work it out for themselves,  we all like to think we are clever....

Leaving aside the whole, you know, encouraging the act of burning people alive...Do you think she'll learn anything valuable from it? I don't. At best she'll learn to hide her disgusting views behind ambiguous and borderline defensible language.

Because we've seen plenty of times that the people that consume and share this information, even when they accept corrections and hold their hands up are back to sharing the same old shit within a few days.

Correcting individual pieces of nonsense doesn't teach people to critically think about the source of the information that's making them angry.

Twitter is honesty the worst. The brave security guard who saved the woman and child in Leicester Square had his identity stolen by a pro-Putin troll

at this point anyone who still has a blue tick really needs to have a word with themselves. the platform has always been a bit of a cesspit, but there's not a word that even describes it anymore.

been a quiet day today so i've been going through the main accounts i follow and making sure i follow them on threads and using that predominantly. i think we'll see a mass exodus soon

for a content creator of footy etc it must be difficult because it's your livlihood but i'd love to see some big companies that don't rely on twitter income start shutting down their accounts

edit: that account has at least been taken down, so that's something

Why don't you guys just stop reading it, Instead of saying how bad it is, then quoting all the bull****  on it??

because there's an annoying good amount of useful content on there still. the main footy journos post on there more than anything else for a start so at the moment, the good outweighs the bad...just

Because the consequences of social media isn't just people reading something they don't like.

I'd bet very good money that Donald Trump wouldn't be, and never would have been, president if it wasn't for social media.

It's not like it's something you can just ignore. The consequences of social media literally shape the world

It's the same answer really.

I'm sure if those people knew they could just ignore it and it would have no consequence then they wouldn't moan.

They're moaning because of what that stuff leads to

Well yes, I completely get that but unfortunately that also comes with the downside of amplifying or boosting your enemy too

if you don't read it how would you find out about Katie price and her tastes  :puke:

I guess the trick is not to read the shit you don't' agree with , tbh i thought it was all algorithm based so you don't see stuff you have no interest in  ?

I guess when people search for the shit it continues to send it to you.

Well I think that's part of the backlash Musk is receiving because everyone's feed appears to have since turned into a hate filled cesspit.  That and stuff like poor Chinese men getting sucked into industrial machinery.
