Already outed as being in Cyprus down to the hotel he’s staying at. Unfortunately we don’t have an extradition treaty (which is why he went there)

Cyprus. The place being taken over stealthy by Russia over the last several years.

I did say to my other half who is a serving officer that the police should use their water cannon wagons and disperse/soak the scumbags.

She told me that Teresa May sold them all off 🙄

Might be misremembering, but I think Johnson bought a load for London when he was Mayor, it then turned out that their use would be illegal so May and Khan between them sold them at a massive loss because they were useless.

Just left to do what get like, including burning down a hotel, wtf kind of policing strategy is this?

Are they that short of numbers?

Same, I appreciate the tense situation, but it only needed 2 or 3 to move from the  corner of the building ~10m away and cover that window.

Some of those that work forces?

Far too many racists in this Country for the Old Bill to deal with. What about the ones we can't see?

Sorry, I meant in this current situation.  Sadly, there are too many racists in this country though, indeed.

The answer is 'reasonable force'.

Call me a liberal cuck who's infected by the woke mind virus, but what I want is police officers able to subdue a violent mob, while not going quite so far as to kick floored people in the face and then stamping on their head when they're no longer an active threat.

Head stomping bad. Helplessly watching on as people burn down buildings, bad. Maybe there's something in the middle, yeah?

Don't come round here with reasoned thought out arguments. Trying to arrest people is violently attacking them however you do it.

If this was a 80's football riot they'd be running them down with horses.  Of course police cuts mean WM police have no horses any more.  They should be charging them though.  I think they're just hopelessly out numbered which is a worry as everyone knew it could kick off. Especially if this is an immigrant hotel.

I have just read that Staffordshire Police have said specialist officers are dealing with the incident. I'd love to know what their specialism is.

Anti-riot in full gear, like the ones you get at the matches when it gets out of hand.

There were police horses at Villa Park last season, the European games I think. Were they just hired in or something? It was odd seeing them back again.

They're definitely about, just less often - the infamous geordie punching a horse, for example

Yes. WMP got rid of their horses 15-20 years ago.

edit - The mounted division was disbanded in 1999.

Latest footage from Tamworth looks like rioters have been cleared from the immediate vicinity of the building which is good news.

Just realised that Starmer speech talking about those online starting trouble then running away is a direct reference to Yaxley-Lennon. Hopefully something is cooking because he was very direct about it.

Enough is enough with that prick. Lock him up, and don’t protect him inside either.

What's the difference. Some asking to stop them with extreme violence?

Most of the riotersare just being dicks, the guy at the airport tried to seriously injure armed officers.

No one is suggesting they put them to the ground and stamp on their heads.  They're suggesting the go in and arrest them, you know, like a normal arrest.
