You're not going to get that for attempted murder. Try as you might.

I’m not sure he was being entirely serious, however, don’t underestimate the punishment for trying to burn down a hotel.

Update to my offer of free books for Spellow Library Hub in Liverpool (Google is my friend, I was just being lazy).

I have contacted a local councillor in the Walton area to see if he can arrange for someone to collect the books.  There are 40 books all in great condition, some of them only a few months old.

Don't know where you are but quite happy to help

I'm telling you. Be careful what you wish for.

What's that supposed to mean?  I'm just saying if the thugs start anything here they'll be easily driven back.

I wonder how proud man in white shirt will be when he’s in the dock.

Am I missing something here? the Police are standing metres away just letting this happen. Surely the Police should be stepping in.

You're not wrong. I read @Vive_La_Villa posting earlier about concerns about going to VP and I was going to say that I couldn't see it kicking off too badly in Brum.

But if there are two places I could see it kicking off in small pockets it's probably the football grounds tbh.

I really hope there's no racism at footy grounds and particularly Villa which is a lot more diverse these days. We've come so far.  Would be a real shame if there are any incidents but if there are fans really need to stick together against these thugs.

It’s bizarre, they should at least be guarding that newly created entrance.

If I'm not mistaken, in the 2011 riots, someone got a few years in prison for stealing a bottle of water during the looting. They came down on people like a tonne of bricks, and should do the same here.

Burning down a building that presumably has people in it, with it being racially motivated as an aggravating factor? They should never see the outside of a cell again IMO

I remember a story of one fella who wandered into a recently ransacked jewellers and walked out again without touching anything, got a long prison sentence.

You're not going to get a whole life tariff for attempted murder, regardless of the circumstances. A few years is a long way off a whole life tariff, and those extra years would have been under some serious array charge.

There isn't a better multi racial city in the Country. I should know, I grew up here. You have to know your limits, which bullies usually do.

Yep, they will get a right kicking thats for sure but the police will have to try and stop it and that's not a good place to be for them, plus while all that'soing on any criminals will know they have a free reign  for a few hours, looting and rioting.

I hated thatcher and supported the mine workers when they was attacked by the police but this is different,.law and order is being threatened and the police must he given the powers to hit these demos hard before the violence starts, nick em.

I am not particularly familiar with the sentencing tariffs, but the 'should' and 'IMO' are doing a lot of the work in that post rather than being an actual prediction

Sorry for the crossed wires.  Think I'm gonna come off here now and put some records on.  It's depressing me.

Sorry, Brother. My grammar at times. That's what happens when you neglect a formal education. 😉

Getting lively in Tamworth

Windows smashed

Why don’t they back up a few riot vans, then start grabbing these pricks from the front of the rioters and slinging them into the vans to be prosecuted tomorrow after a night in the cells. Would they be so brave then?

Mustard gas the thick words removed.

Or just shoot them, wouldn't have to wear a gas mask for that.

It's not rocket science. Judges are bound by sentencing guidelines. Have you got an Archibald nearby, if so, look up the maximum sentence for attempted murder. I'm guessing life but never a whole life tariff.
