kingphil
I think if this would have happened several weeks ago - Bruce would now be prime candidate. I do think it will be Martin Jol - and that he will make a very good job at it

stewiek2
Houllier at 22-1 on Paddypower looks a decent bet. Though I hope their 28-1 Steve McClaren bears fruit!
ED
Actually didnt Potato head leave Wigan after a month to join another club at some point in the past? Or did I imagine that? History may repeat itself...
Grant(aka_eddy)
Actually... we can perhaps expect to see an approach for Martin O'Neill. And for any hopeful Geordies out there....expect to be told to **** right off!!!

mjmooney Posted January 10, 2008 VT Supporter Share Posted January 10, 2008 What odds can you get on O'Leary? I'm not a betting man, but I'd be tempted by that one. Very long shot - Brian Little.
Ryan.
Martin Jol methinks, no manager currently in a job would even consider going there if they had any sense

The_Rev
I think if Jol applies for the job, its his to lose. I dont get why Redknapp is the favourite. I just cant see him moving from his house in Bournmouth. He seems very settled and happy on the south coast and i cant see Newcastle having the potential to outdo Pompey at any time in the short to medium term (2-5 years) that his contract will be for. Actually didnt Potato head leave Wigan after a month to join another club at some point in the past? Or did I imagine that? History may repeat itself... Yep. He was manager at Wigan and left for Palace. He was only at Wigan for 7 games (i think) but i dont think he had a contract there. Then he was only at Palace for a few months before the pigdogs got him.
