Also LA already have 3 DPs so they can't sign Reus...

MLS doesn't let a little thing like pre-existing rules affect the ability of their Signature Clubs to do stuff.

Drew 2-2 Orlando.

Down to 10 men for 60 odd minutes, following a tackle by Scott Arfield from behind studs up into the heel of the opposition. Not a good tackle but perhaps soft for a red and was given by VAR. Goals are nice finishes against some bad defending, and what they concede is pretty soft as well.

Apparently Smith's time in charge at Charlotte is the best 20 game form total in his managerial career. Which is a thing.

Beat DC United.

The standard of finishing is disgraceful.

Sunday morning parks football level.

Lost to Inter Miami at home.

Probably not one they deserved to lose in truth. It seems there's potentially an offside in the build-up to the winner which was missed and also seems the ref missed a pen. Nice finish for Charlotte's goal.

Very stupid red at the end.

Emi, Ollie, Konsa, Ty, Luiz

Pretty much the Villa spine

Beat Cincinnati, conference leaders, 3-1.

Bit of an everything game. Penalty, red card, penalty saved, nice finishes, woodwork hit, multiple disallowed goals. Got everything.

Drew with Columbus Crew.

Neither goal is a classic, the first comes from a complete brain fart by the defender and the equaliser you'd be raging about conceding.

My Crew's regular keeper is, unfortunately, on the US Olympic team so they started a youth keeper, and just allowed a total garbage goal.

But fair play to Dean, Wilfred Nancy has been dominating the MLS with his tactic, and Dean was able to counter the Christ out of the Crew and made them super dangerous. His Charlotte FC team play a lot like his Villa teams did here, extremely dangerous on the counter and just a nuisance to play against.

Drew with Austin.

Some nice stuff played but also some outright clownish moments. Smith also chose to put their returning Polish international striker Swiderski straight back in and he'll be gutted he's not got at least a brace.

Beat Cruz Azul in their second Leagues Cup match. Went to pens because of the bizarre format, where they won it. Interestingly Smith rotated the keeper for this one almost like he'd written it off.
