Yet, they retained the likes of Sargent, Aarons and have some experienced players like Hanley and players good enough for the top end of the league like Cantwell. useless Posted December 26, 2022 Share Posted December 26, 2022 Sargent isn't that good, Aarons has been out of form for a while now he's not the player his past reputation suggests, a lot, if not most, Norwich fans would be happy to cash in, although I don't think they would get a particulary big fee for him, there's a reason he's still at Norwich, Cantwell isn't the player he was a few seasons back either. As for Ramsey he's done well, and they seem to do better with him in the team, but they shouldn't be counting on him, and if they're seri about promotion a player of his experience shouldn't be one of only a few they have that's shown any kind of decent form, he's also missed the last few games with an injury, seems they've missed him. useless Posted December 27, 2022 Share Posted December 27, 2022 Norwich squad was much stronger when Farke came up with them, it was probably actually stronger than the team they had in the Premier League last season, if you put Buendia and Oliver Skipp in the current Norwich team that alone would transform them, and then someone like Todd Cantwell was a completely different player then to what he's since become, he fell out with Farke I think and hasn't been the same since, it's only this season that he's started getting back into their team, but isn't always first choice, so he's nowhere near back to his best, Pukki probably not as good as he was either with age catching up with him, and then even someone like Aarons hasn't been in form and hasn't been since before Smith went there, I've seen many a Norwich fan remonstrate that he hasn't been the same since they were last promoted and that they would cash in. Farke also had the likes of Mario Vrancic and Alex Tettey who were probably much more important to them than people realize as well. When you look at what Smith's got in attack, outside of Sargent and Pukki, Aaron Ramsey is their most productive player, which is good for us, but from a Norwich point of view that they've got no one any better and are relying on him for output tells you how weak they are in the creative postions, to confound it even more, Pukki and Sargent aren't really suited to playing in the same team, a younger Pukki, a Cantwell before his career went off the rails, and Buendia, is a much stronger attack than what they have now, last few games they haven't even had Ramsey.
