osmark86
Also gutted about this. Really wanted it to work out for Dean. He's one of us. Thanks for the best years I've had supporting this club.
Popular Post kidlewis
Gutted he’s gone. We simply must have an A grade manager coming in otherwise this is a bad move for the long term of the club. The importance of this cannot be understated. Possibly the biggest managerial appointment since the Prem started
El-Reacho
Think he’ll be the first manager in a long time to have a successful high-level managerial career after taking the Villa job.

Spoony
Gutted he couldn’t take us further but it had to happen. Will always be welcomed back as a success for what he achieved.
Stratvillan
Really sad. Inevitable given the results. Genuinely worried who we are going to get next. If anyone thinks this squad is challenging for anything but survival, they're hideously misinformed.
Khizzy
I didn't want him to go but with five defeats in a row the writing was on the wall. I'm feeling very upset but ultimately it is probably the right time for a change and a fresh start but he can hold his head up high and said he did his best and he did himself and his family proud. I wish him all the best. Edited November 7, 2021 by Khizzy
Popular Post sne
Sad but the right call. Thanks for everything Dean and good luck whatever you decide to do next.
picicata
The first manager since Gregory that I'm sad to see go, but I think it's the right decision. Good luck in the future Deano, you're a top man

rjw63
Sorry it came to this but the right decision. An international break came at the wrong time for Deano. It's the perfect time for the club to install a new boss.
Lichfield Dean Posted November 7, 2021 VT Supporter Share Posted November 7, 2021 Feel sad about this. Really hoped he could succeed here, and in many ways he has. He restored some pride into the club and gave us many great times. Perhaps it is for the best but... well who knows? Big call by the club.
Spoony
I’m incidentally I’ll look back on this with fury unless we make an absolutely top drawer appointment but right now I just can’t see who that’d be.
Ingram85
I’ve never warmed to him if I’m honest but he can be proud of what he achieved here at Villa. Must have been a real privilege to manage your boy hood club. It hasn’t all been great but the pro’s outweigh the cons. He definitely has reached the limit imo of what he can do here based on his own abilities. Completely the right decision but with a bit of sadness that it didn’t go as planned recently. All the best Dean, thanks for some great memories in spite of the bad times, good luck for the future and you’ll always get a great reception at VP I’m sure. Rugeley Villa
If we had any serious ambition, he probably had to go. Definitely a shame but he can hold his head held high. Got us up and kept us up and reached a cup final. Was unlucky with the Grealish saga. I’d say it was a success, but I think he’s probably at the peak of his powers and it’s not good enough for where we now want to go. By no means the greatest manager we’ve had, but plenty of clubs will be looking at him . Edited November 7, 2021 by Rugeley Villa

Nigel Posted November 7, 2021 VT Supporter Share Posted November 7, 2021 What if we had held on against wolves? The razor sharp bits of luck that change courses of clubs!
MaVilla
honestly, i thought it needed to happen. But also, im actually surprised it happened, i thought they might stick with him regardless. I wonder who they have lined up? On a final note, thanks Deano, i will never think badly of you, it was the right time to go i think, but he deserves respect for what he has done for the club. I hope the pay off and money he got while here sets him and his family up for life, and he finds another job quickly, best of luck Deano. robby b
Flippin heck! I was shocked to see the news on the BBC football homepage just now because although we're suddenly in massive danger I had a feeling the owners were going to give him 1 or 2 more games to get a win.
CVByrne
It's the right decision to let him go given how bad 2021 has been. I feel sad it didn't work out as we all would love had Dean turned out to be as good as Brendan Rogers or David Moyes but it wasn't to be.
