Lose that and he's gone, probably. 5 losses in a row in fairness is Norwich territory, so I don't suppose any manager could hang on after that. The Fun Factory
The reason the players are giving off bad body language is that we have lost 4 games in a row- not that Smith has 'lost' the dressing room. It wasn't that long ago we beat Everton and United back to back. If we get a result against Southampton that would make a world of difference.

Tom13
"If a manager closes his eyes and doesn't want to see a bad situation, you lose the dressing room." That is spot on. And with all the talk about unrest in our squad at the mo, I hope Deano takes note.

CVByrne
This season is the wrong one to be going backwards. Spurs getting Conte now by looks of it. So they now have one of best managers in the game. West Ham going from strength to strength. Arsenal sorting themselves out. Newcastle takeover. Seems like Europe of any description is a long way off, especially given the limitations of Smith
Reivax_Villa
Personally, I would keep him this season if there are signs that he won’t relegate us. Then replace him with a top class manager who may be available in May. Without his own back room staff he looks lost and doesn’t deserve a new contract.

Probably one of the strongest Premier leagues there's ever been. Newcastle, Norwich, possibly Watford. That's pretty much it. Rest of the teams are well on par or better than us. I would add Burnley to that list. But I agree with your general point. It's a strong league. Everyone has money now. The PL has grown much richer than the other European leagues, a higher percentage of the world's best players are coming here, and the quality is everywhere. You can't have the mentality "we shouldn't lose to Palace/Wolves/Brentford/whoever, they're a smaller club than us." Forget history, it's today. Beyond Man C/Liverpool/Chelsea at the top and those 3-4 teams at the bottom, any team can beat any other team on any given week.

Didn't look it No injury, he was the make weight for the Konza/Ming's switch. He went to Deano shook his hand and went towards where the players sit behind the coaches, minute later and he walks down the touchline, jumps the boarding and off down the tunnel. Could be for warm down. Everything like this gets put under the microscope, we need a win badly now, a few probably because once the momentum builds, already is, there a re going to be tears. Something has happened. Something big has changed and the only obvious thing is the backroom staff reboot, maybe someone is rubbing everyone else up the wrong way. Is Ming's over playing the captain role? Has Deano lost the ROK good cop/bad cop thing day to day and it's slowly spiralled into what we now see Love Dean but love Villa more, fix it quick or we.must find someone who can.

Regardless of whether he was right for us, the fact they can and have makes me more than just a bit envious...the profile...the media buzz...I know it's shallow but just once I'd like to experience it.... Sucks doesn’t it, makes you wander why we bother. However, I imagine we are going to struggle on for a number of games before any action is taken. I haven’t seen anything from the board over the past 5 months that tells me they are taking things seriously and wanting to stick around. Some very bizarre goings on recently. The spending of the Grealish money doesn’t count in my view…

Can't help but feel the rumours of behind-the-scenes problems are probably correct. John Terry still has no other football role, I believe. Did he really want to leave us so badly to do nothing? Similarly, at 64, did Richard O'Kelly really want to retire from football at such a relatively young age? Neither of these things ring true. Desperately hoping the hard-won positive group mentality can be rebuilt, but it looks a tall order at the moment, and borders on farcical when a specialist in dead ball situations looks to have zero effect and an increasingly influential role.
