Keener window-cleaner
For the first time in many years we have seen players constantly improving. Dean Smith is developping our players and has created a team spirit and togetherness that I couldn't even dream about. Super super manager. villa89
Very impressive performance today, one of the best I can remember. At halftime I expected it to end 1-1. Instead we dominated the second half which is a huge testament to the manager.
Popular Post Condimentalist
Well on his way to club legend status. My favourite Villa manager in 25 years supporting the club.

Popular Post OutByEaster? Posted December 26, 2020 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted December 26, 2020 We have a number of players who have a particular "thing" to their game. The beauty of the work this coaching team is doing is that they're being put in positions where they can do their "thing" more and more often in games - if you look at the way Targett and Cash play, they're very different, but they're in a system where Cash gets to play like Cash and Targett gets to play like Targett and the shape allows them to do that. It's the same all over the pitch - players are in positions where they can do the thing they're good at and they're rarely in positions where they get exposed on the things they're not good at - it's an organisational triumph. Dean and the coaching team are making these players better and finding the right ways to use their strengths in games - it's a brilliant effort and it suggests that there are some people on the sidelines here who really do know what they're doing. On top of that, the players love him, they listen to him, they respect him and the coaches do too - this is a very good manager indeed. 9

Taken us from 14th in the Championship to currently tied for 5th in the Premier League. Legend. Dean, NSWE, and Jack have revived this club. What a story. You know how they say you never know the good old days are the good old days while you’re in them? Enjoy every second, every twist and turn of this. The most fun I’ve ever had as a fan of sport in my 27 years on Earth. This 1000 times over. Enjoy it while it's here. Nothing wrong with looking ahead but I really hope everyone on here is savoring every one these performances.

Vive_La_Villa
I think the players look a lot fitter and stronger than last season. We don’t lose the 50/50s anymore.
sharkyvilla
I always used to scoff at Managers being called Head Coach and thought wtf is the difference but I can see it with Dean. The way he got given a few duff signings last season but he didn't moan and got every ounce out of them after working hard during lockdown. Now players a lot of us thought were a bit shit are actually starting to shine due to hard work off the pitch. I love the man, thank God the board held their nerve last season.

Its just meant to be isn't it? Survived by the skin of our teeth and it has proved monumental. The potential of this team, and Deano, with these owners, is exciting!

tinker Posted December 26, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted December 26, 2020 Just hope the league re schedule our game against Newcastle as the last game of the season and the fans are allowed in to see us lift the premier league title.
USA_Villa
I think the most satisfying thing you can take from recent performances is that it's been difficult to pick a MOM. Today, you could have chosen Watkins, Hause, Martinez, and Traore was also superb before he went off. This is now proper team work, with everyone pulling their weight and working for each other. This team oozes confidence and are not afraid of anyone. Just look at that league table, how satisfying is that?
