I wouldn't risk any of the 3 that played against burnley Would probably have to risk Ezri or used a youth team centre half (I'm a bit out of touch on the youth set up, I thought Vassilev looked older than me). The rest of the players available would have been able to fit the system.

If that is the case we are already doomed this season. You literally wrote on the match thread: "Said it for months and people better realize it. Without Jack we would finish mid table in the Championship with this team." So its hardly a surprise to you that we lost to team in the top 5 of the Championship, with this team. The majority of which Smith had no involvement in signing.

To me it looks like 4-3-3 and that’s it, regardless if we have the players to suit it. What he should be doing is identifying what works and in bedding it throughout the squad and u23’s so that rotation and covering for injuries becomes a lot easier and less of a disruption. Persisting with a formation that doesn’t work is counter productive If spending £40m on Wesley, Target, Jota is our plan - we need to change direction...............sharpish

Sometimes you just have to admit when we've had a disappointing result when we should and could have done better. But the person people are accusing of trolling has wanted Smith fired from about this time last year.

holteend1982
Villa and Brighton both lost , Watford 3 up to tranmere and drew, Newcastle draw with Rochdale. It's hardly the levels of the 4 - 1 defeat to Luton, don't see why people are even arsed about getting beat by Fulham. Poor performance but will have 0 impact on our season at all, if anything it's shown how much we need to invest in the squad because a lot of those players today proved why they cant play a game in the top flight and need replacing ASAP.
useless
We were ten points of the play-offs in February and the team in sixth place had two games in hand over us, to reach the play-offs we had to break our record for wins in a row, to achieve that is near enough a miracle. Also since Smith came in only Norwich took more points than us, that's whilst playing for two months without Grealish or Tuanzebe. Can't take away from what Smith achieved last season.

Fulham did have a similar run the season before. Under Jokanovic. That doesn't suddenly make him an amazing coach. It's an incredibly low sample size. Once you gain momentum in the Championship it can happen. We had players like Abraham, Mings, McGinn, Grealish, El Ghazi and Abraham. It's truly an amazing team at that level. Completely agree but given the league cup, injuries and focus on the league it is good we don’t have more games so being out of the cup might be beneficial. useless
Jokanovic had been at Fulham a couple of years and had built his own squad, Smith had only just arrived and had inherited the mess left by Bruce, and on top of that had to deal with long term injuries to our two best players at the time Grealish and Tuenzebe.

Well obviously but it shows the cup is not as straightforward as it seems. Just because you are in a higher division does not mean you'll go through. I would pay what it takes to take Rafa to the club. We need some structure and solid defensive organization and he is one of the best in the business organizing teams.
