Very impressive interview. He could talk his way out of a cave in the Afghan mountains if he had to. It is very reassuring that there are people like him are involved in the running of the club. As @Zatman mentioned, it was very interesting that the owners will back the transfers if Purslow and co deem it an opportunity too good to miss. Their commitment to keep the club on the up is very evident. I also liked his nod to the players on loan, leaving the door open for a possible return to the team. Whether true or not, it should keep them motivated to do well on loan and keep working hard when they return. Also on that subject, he was very clear to point out the importance of having your players playing (not necessarily for you) in order to keep their value up.

Can see why the BBC have had them in pretty much every article they've posted on the subject. Good man!

Its good for Villa and good for all of football if they leave. Terrible if they stay.

Maybe so, but he is a shareholder so it's in his vested interest to make Villa successful and worth a far few quid, he's going nowhere.

Thrn maybe 1 or 2 other players... no more. Explicitly "owners and I are confident ...with a couple of smart signings". I think this means, they know where we fell short, and know that it isn't an overhaul to make the gap up. Effectively, if Jack hadn't been injured, we'd have probably qualified for Europe. So get someone (like Buendia) in that can create, and we're not left needing much to push on and can continue if/when he's out. I hope they're thinking "we look better with Nakamba in the team, but need someone better in that role" and that they'll be the second signing. If they did go for 3, i'd get a backup striker as well (so we don't end up in the same situation as we did this year if Watkins gets injured), but does sound like 2 first team signings is likely.
