Robin van Persie Manchester United 26 Luis Suarez Liverpool 23 Gareth Bale Tottenham Hotspur 21 Christian Benteke Aston Villa 19 We're just not allowed to have a striker get 20 league goals are we. Kodija got injured on 19. Let's enjoy our last two goals from Tammy

Premier League Golden Boot. Premier League player of the season I think he did alright. Edited January 24, 2019 by Stevo985

OutByEaster? Posted January 24, 2019 Moderator Share Posted January 24, 2019 How far back would we be going to find the last player to score 30 league goals in a season? I know Hately scored 34 in 1964-65, but 14 of those were in cup games. I know Hitchens scored 42 in 1960-61, but 13 of those were cup goals. If he can make it to thirty it'd be the highest league goalscoring season by any Villa player alive and the highest in living memory - the highest since at least the 1930's. Going by my self-made spreadsheet George Brown was the last to do it in 1932/33. Apparently it was all the rage back then... 1932/1933 George Brown 33 1931/1932 Pongo Waring 30 1930/1931 Pongo Waring 49 1929/1930 George Brown 30 1925/1926 Len Capewell 32 2

So between Pongo & Houghton, they scored 79 league goals in one season. Those were the days!
villalad21
Just wish we could match his ambitions, sadly we can't. He obviously cares about this club but he is way too good at this level.

Derby have Millwall (game moved FA Cup) and then Preston, both are potential slip ups. Boro have Bristol City and West Brom, they could potentially lose them both. Even if we claw the gap back to 4-5 points we are still in with a shout with Grealish coming back.

We're dropping points to all the dross.

How is it possible to enjoy your football with an outlook like that? Right up until we couldn’t mathematically catch Cardiff last year I was walking to my seat with hope. The lads around me thought it was funny but I did genuinely think we still had a chance,I was wrong as it turned out but it made it more enjoyable for me anyway!
