"Whisker away" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here!

Yeah, maybe not a whisker.

I guess it was effort or consistency that held him back. His touch, skill, finishing, and ability to beat a player were exceptional when he seemed to be on the boil. But that just never seemed to happen quite often enough.

Always said, combine his raw ability with Trez's effort and you end up with a Ronaldo.

About to join Cardiff apparently

tbh, surprised he didnt want to go back to Ajax, like Traore did.

Traore & El Ghazi on a free for Ajax would have been good business.

Let's be honest. He's not done anything in the game in 3 or 4 years , Ajax have dropped off but even still.

Career going out with a whimper sadly.

That was caused by him being unfairly dismissed rather than being crap, though.

Did he ever do anything? He was never much use to be honest. One of the many of our championship team that is overrated on here. Shout out to Conor hourihane.

Their skill level was simply relative to our status during those years..

Those players who pulled us out of the quicksand will be remembered longer and held in higher esteem than most of our Premier League players over the last 25 years. Not because they were amazing, top talents, but because they gave everything for Villa and achieved something amazing, as a team.

Exactly and due to Dr Tony, we were possibly going to be in a pretty dire financial situation. Had those players not have got us promoted when they did, we could very easily have become what SHA are today. For that, AEG, Elmo, Hourihane, Whelan, Jedinak etc. will all be thought of fondly

Best of luck Anwar, Cardiff won't be missing any penalties, assuming that you will be taking them. Anwar El Ghazi on Premier League ...
