Nigel Posted February 24, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted February 24, 2014 Shame Maia couldn't finish in round 1. He was made to look very limited after that 1st round take down.

ArteSuave
Ah I see. He is very limited really, in terms of MMA. Physically, he's not quick, he's not strong, he has no KO power, he's got relatively short arms and legs and he never looks in good shape. Outside of heavyweight he's probably the least athletic guy in the UFC. Technically, he's got no kicking game at all, his boxing is rudimentary and his head movement is not very good. The only reason he's in there is his incredibly precise Jiu Jitsu. His game relies on trapping and tricking though, so his opponents can prepare for him and reduce his chances massively. Nigel Posted February 24, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted February 24, 2014 Relatively speaking I agree. This was cruelly exposed by Rorys rounded game too, a simple change of stance and that was that.
Zhan_Zhuang
I think Rory is in exceptional physical shape and is more of a well-rounded fighter.

Tegis Posted February 27, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted February 27, 2014 NSAC passes motion to ban all TRT use in Nevada. Vitor back to human level then.
Tegis Posted February 28, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted February 28, 2014 And with that, Belfort has withdrawn from the title fight. Machida gets the shot at Weidman instead. What a mess

Nigel Posted February 28, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted February 28, 2014 Weidman is ruling over a relatively poor division now IMO! From the UK point of view this could be a good thing for Bisping though!
Tegis Posted February 28, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted February 28, 2014 4 out of Bispings 5 losses has been against TRT users. Rashad is the exception and that was at 205. "What ifs" and all that comes to mind
ArteSuave
Poor division? Based purely on Vitor not being allowed to juice during his training camp?
Nigel Posted February 28, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted February 28, 2014 You know as well as I do that Victor without juice is not the same fighter, never will be. After the loss of Silva the last thing the division needed was the removal of the No.1 contender as well. Where is the genuine competition to Weidmann?
